Public Piping; Where Do you Do it?

I brought a corn cob to an outdoor concert a few weeks ago and lots of people commented that it was cool or interesting or unique or some such thing. Smoke in the car occasional and see people taking notice.

    Taste and Perspective

Reviews are like fishing reports. No good knowing where the fish were yesterday, but you can pull some good Intel out of them. I'm learning more about what I do and do not like lately. Reviews help zero in on what I'm seeking in a blend. For example, i recently tried MB Symphony. I was looking...

Tins in a Plastic Jar? Your Thoughts...

Curious what the more experienced folks think of this storage method. I'm not looking to age anything. I just want to stay fresh until I get around to smoking it again. Would storing a bunch of tins together in a plastic jar like this cause them to contaminate each other once they are opened?

To All You Clenchers Out There

It's more of a balance than a clench for me. I clench if I'm moving around but it tends to give me headache. Also don't care if the business end of the pipe looks like it's been doing the business.

    What Are These Blends?

Went to a local B&M today. Cigar shop of course. They have a collection of bulk jars on the wall and a pretty decent selection of pipes as well. From what I can tell by the names, the blends are mostly Sutliff bulk or similar stuff like tobacco Galleria. Some however, say Lighthouse (name of...

If You Smoke Aromatics Is It The Tobacco You're Enjoying ?

If you Salt your food, is it really the food you're enjoying? Ketchup on a burger? Dressing on a salad? Hot sauce on wings? Etc...

Tamping And The Bottom Of The Bowl?

I just tamped the bottom of a bowl of Dunhill RR in very conical dublin and I fear it may never stop burning now. It tastes fine.

    Dark Fired Kentucky

Few things to add to this. I recently tried Amphora Burley. I really like it. Surprisingly similar to ODF, but it doesn't have that thing that ODF has. It has something it doesn't. Best pounch tobacco I've had. I also tried Hearth & Home Smokey Mountain. It was tobacco of the week on P&C a...

You gotta work with what you got.

    Unburned Tobacco

No need to finish. Sometimes ash builds up on top of the bowl and ash doesn't burn. Tamp it and relight. If that doesn't work, it's over.

    Dark Fired Kentucky

haven't stepped into Perique/VaPers yet. One of the Eng blends I have, Sutliff Emerald Isle has some, but it's a lat bomb. All I taste is Hush Puppy fumes.

    Smoking in the Home

If inside it's in the basement where my man cave, office, and work shop are. She doesn't mind most of what I smoke and it does't contaminate everything like cigarettes. I avoid giving the dogs second hand smoke, so if they decide to hang in the basement I either don't smoke or go in the shop...

***What Are You Smoking, December 2020?***

Trying to burn off the last of my Sutliff Classic Cavendish because I need the jar.

    Dark Fired Kentucky

I have not warmed up to latakia myself. I have. third "English" blend on the shelf that I may try this week. While I don't find lat necessarily offensive, there is an element of old shoes burning to it that i find uninviting. I would use the word "smoky" to describe lat in my limited...

    Pipe Regrets

I regret my MM minis, but at $2 a pop I don't regret them that much.
