Pipe Lost Color After Heating It?

I mean when we smoke the pipe, does it not increase in heat? I know the heat from regular smoking is not on the level of applying heat from a blow dryer, but in all the articles I read on Meerschaum waxing I never heard of color disappearing from heat. So yeah, it's a valid question that...

Pipe Lost Color After Heating It?

On this forum I noticed there is this prejudice against people who wax their pipe, which I find laughable and notably cringe worthy. We should all be so noble as you so as to avoid the sinful application of that dreaded substance that only a heretic like myself would dare to use.

Pipe Lost Color After Heating It?

Hey guys, So I noticed some left over wax on my pipe, so I heated it with a blow dryer to wipe it off. In doing so, it looks like some color disappeared. I'm a bit disappointed because I thought color would only be lost as a result of leaving it out in the cold, not from heat from a blow...

    Carving Your Pipe After Finish?

Well yeah, I posted this in the Meerschaum subsection ;). I was specifically wondering if there is anything to carving a Meer after it's been finished though. Is it the same process as an unfinished meer?

    Carving Your Pipe After Finish?

I've considered it, and I may in the future, but I would just be content with modifying my current one. Any pointers? I've heard you need to keep it pretty damp. I'm wondering how that would work being that it's already been finished with wax. Also wondering what tool would I use to etch?

    Carving Your Pipe After Finish?

Has anyone ever tried adding a personal etching in their pipe after you purchased the finished product? I'm wondering how I would go about doing that, and whether or not if it's possible after being waxed.

How To Remove The White Wax Crust?

Dude that pipe is beautiful. How long have you been smoking that? What frequency and tobacco did you normally use? I like claw pipes. May get one myself. Do you happen to know the brand as well? Also, I'm gathering that there really is no point to waxing. Some guys will be waxing there pipe...

How To Remove The White Wax Crust?

I smoke this pipe about 3 times a day for the last 3 months, so I figured that it needed a good waxing. Plus it brought out the color. Also, the hair drying did not work. I'm starting to think this isn't wax crust, but possibly just apart of the meerschaum? Take a look and tell me what you guys...

Can Anyone Tell the Quality of this Pipe?

I mean that does make sense. After the pipe veins are saturated with tobacco parts, every smoke pushed it further and further through the vein and to the surface.

Can Anyone Tell the Quality of this Pipe?

Spot on. Thanks a lot. I'll check one out at the shop near me. The thing is is the spacer broke off, and the spiral screw part of the plastic is stuck in the screw part of the mortise. I'll see if I can gently take it out tomorrow.

Can Anyone Tell the Quality of this Pipe?

Thanks. Didn't know they could be replaced that easy. The top just broke off too =/. Looks like it melted off when I was heating it while waxing.

How To Remove The White Wax Crust?

Hey, So I waxed my meer for the second time, this time dipping it fully in white organic beeswax for a few minutes. After letting it cool, and buffing it with a shirt, I noticed this white wax crust that isn't removing. Namely it's on the teeth and around the mouth. Why do some parts of the...

Can Anyone Tell the Quality of this Pipe?

Yeah, it does smoke well. Has a tendency to trap moisture though, but that could just be me. Regarding the insert for the tennon, is this what you mean? Looks like mine has that, but the tennon has gotten looser when I twist it off. I never twist off the insert, if I take the stem out I take...

Can Anyone Tell the Quality of this Pipe?

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) So I've purchased this pipe in the beginning of June, it's probably had over 100 smokes as of now, and I'm concerned that it hasn't colored much in comparison to some of the pipes I've seen here that have been smoked like 12 times and already...
