Suggestions for Someone to Make a New Stem for a Bekler Meer?

@chasingembers, thanks so much for the recommendation! I will get in contact with Briarville ASAP. I did not know about them but they look fantastic. And yes, I am interested in completely replacing the current screw in system that’s on the pipe. Having a green stem is just an extra bonus!

Pipe Filters on a Savinelli Roma

I’ll echo what @olkofri said, I’d suggest you experiment with all the possibilities and see what works best for you. Personally, I prefer the pipes without the filter or the adapter, but I do like a wide-open draw. I find that the triangular filters vary a bit, so you might find that the next...

Suggestions for Someone to Make a New Stem for a Bekler Meer?

I have a couple of meers, and I am getting into smoking them more and more. I have a really nice Bekler meer, not a figural piece but still a really cool carving with a lot of geometric stuff going on. Like many meerschaum pipes, the draw on this pipe is extremely tight, however. The problem is...

    Hi from Santa Monica

Welcome! I live right next to Santa Monica in Brentwood, and I go to SM all the time (well, I used to before coronavirus hit). Since you are in LA, you might consider joining one of our local pipe clubs if you have not already. I have been attending the virtual meetings of the Los Angeles pipe...

    Hello from Los Angeles!

Ha! I actually live in a part of LA that has a lot of movie stars around, and definitely tons of people in The Industry. Sadly, not me. The level of wealth around here has taken some getting used to. Everywhere else I’ve lived, I might see maybe one or two Ferraris a year, maybe a...

Solani Aged Burley Anything Else Like It?

I’ll echo previous recommendations for MacBaren’s HH Burley flake. It is not in any way identical to ABF, but perhaps in the same ballpark. I get a lot of anise flavor from ABF, and I have not found that same flavor in any of the other similar blends I’ve tried (HH burley flake, amphora...

    Hello from Los Angeles!

Thanks! americaman, I live in west LA, and pretty far north to boot. But I’d love to stop by some time—it’s not that far, and driving IS the whole point of living in LA. Are you doing in-person meetings? I have joined the last two virtual LA pipe club meetings and really enjoyed those...

    Hello from Los Angeles!

Hello everyone! I recently came back to the pipe after a long hiatus. I first picked up the pipe in 2004, and smoked off-and-on until about 2010. I was living in Boston at the time, and in 2010 I moved to Lawrence, KS. For some reason I dropped the hobby while living in Kansas, and I seem to...
