I live 25 miles from Black Oak Arkansas, the small town the band grew up in and got its name from. Years ago, my sister dated a guy who lived next door to Jim Dandy, the lead singer. Haunted Bookshop Cake

I believe it’s an original. He had considered a suit, but didn’t have the money to take on a behemoth like Zeppelin. He did use quite a few traditional Scottish folk tunes though. The number of guitarists and musicians he inspired is amazing. Great to hear from another fan.- poettheologian

I’m listening to Bert Jansch album Jack Orion. It includes "Blackwaterside,” a song so good Jimmy Page used it, almost note for note on his instrumental "Black Mountain Side," in Led Zeppelin’s 1969 debut, without giving Jansch credit.- poettheologian
