Dunhill Shilling Pipe

Restaining Question
I am about to try restaining a couple of pipes. Would I cover up the nickel bands first with painters tape or something similar? Or can it simply be cleaned off after the fact? Thanks in advance.- jerryskid47

Peterson System Pipe Stem Won't Budge
I recently came across some old Peterson system pipes that was someone's grandfather's. They hadn't been smoked in a long while. One's stem won't come off. I am new to cleaning, and refurbishing pipes. I tried freezing it and that didn't work. Any suggestions?- jerryskid47
