    J.R.R Tolkien ...

Precisely- this is an aspect of woke culture that works against the very people the wokesters think they are promoting. It seems they always feel the need to remake people into something or someone else in order for them to be found interesting. It’s why so many of their stories fail to resonate...

    J.R.R Tolkien ...

Here‘s an odd thing about writers when they do provide female characters more time and depth in a story - especially fantasy- the writers tend to drop the female characters into roles traditionally best suited for males. Traditional and cultural influences that were significant for women are...

    J.R.R Tolkien ...

Thank you. There is no doubt about Tolkien's talent and his impact on literature. More importantly perhaps is how he was able to incorporate aspects of language mechanics and traditional folklores to create a universe that was self contained and capable of its own internal logic. HIs approach to...

    J.R.R Tolkien ...

I agree that Tolkien was indeed a genius. I also agree that he was a talented story teller.

    J.R.R Tolkien ...

For the record, I am not a Tolkien fan. I find his writings to be too tedious and overdrawn for my patience. I also prefer stories that don't require a ton of back knowledge to know what is going on with the plot.

    J.R.R Tolkien ...

I wouldn’t call literary criticism hate either. Harold Bloom LOL. I wouldn't call my post inflammatory. It was a response to a post that referred to haters, right? In tern, literary critics don't usually refer to their own "tits" (see the prior posts) to describe what they find interesting...

To the haters, I say do better yourself. What? You can‘t? He may not be your cup of tea, but a tea maker you’re not. Keep that in mind.

Yeah, you heard that right. I understand the Moroccans have crowded him out. He is currently in North Spain where I think he might want to settle down. The issue is they only grow broccoli up there, LOL.

Watch Out or Watch on? Pt 2.

I have an Orient and it is a fine enough watch - it gets compliments whenever I am out and about. But it is a soulless watch. It's a tool - a nice looking tool - but it is more machine than man. My 18k Longines solid gold watch and band is a piece of jewelry. But it still lacks a soul. The...
