***What Are You Smoking, May 2022?***

I have no idea why, maybe because the weather is getting nice, but I've been stuck on Stokkebye Peaches And Cream which I think is my favorite peach tobacco hands down. Been smoking my Father's French made Jobey that he probably bought in the 70s or 80s. Nice smoking pipe. Nothing fancy.

Two Baer Bowl Pipes Made In Wisconsin

According to an old thread I found a guy named Miles Baer carved them in his basement in Neenah, WI from about 1951 - 1972. So definitely no relationship with Uhles I'm aware of.

Two Baer Bowl Pipes Made In Wisconsin

I know there's some interest in these pipes that were made in Wisconsin from the 50s to the early 70s. These two were my fathers. He bought them sometime probably in the late 60s. As you can see from one of the photos there's apparently what Miles Baer called a smoke cooling chamber. The bowl...

Thanks! The most important thing is having fun and relaxing the fish come second for me. Plenty of days I've come home unlucky, but with my batteries recharged just being on a stream, enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. Being peak color for leaves right now is an added bonus! Tight lines!

Thanks! Would love to do some fly fishing out west sometime! Was cold for a few days, but going to be around 70 degrees the next couple of days. Hoping to get out on a stream tomorrow. Water is down in the 50s so the big browns won't active until mid day when it the warmest. Going to be...

Thanks! Glad to give them up for good. $15 a day to slowly kill yourself isn't worth it.

School me on Determining Date of Fancy Tobacco Tins

Mac Baren is pretty easy in the states as mentioned above. Here's the Solent Mixture I received I few weeks ago dated APR 2012.

    Empty Space in Jar

Oh good I see others are using Ball jars as well. An elderly neighbor gave me about 75 as she no longer cans. Wasn't sure if it was the best way to store tobacco. Still a bit green on some aspects to pipe smoking!

Thanks! Quitting cigarettes was the best thing I've ever done at about $400+ a month it was getting crazy expensive. Even smoking a pipe I can breath better, smell better and taste more. Glad I quit!

Thanks so much. I think there's some truth to your chemical theory. Even when I smoked Nat Sherman cigarettes which were 100% natural my clothes/hair etc didn't smell as bad. Now it appears the evil empire of Philip Morris or their spinoff has bought Nat Sherman and ruined them. Last pack I...

Thanks for all the great information. I had no idea of the history. I have only been in once since I haven't smoked a pipe for very long. Very enlightened by your post. Cheers!

Anyone Interested in a Southern CT Fairfield County Club?

Just thought I would solicit possible interest. I always enjoy meeting other pipe smokers though I'm fairly new to pipes. If there's enough interest I would be happy to take the lead. Thanks in advance! Jp
