    Matches

Hey there. Am I the önly one having a problem finding quality “strike anywhere” matches? I’ve purchased a couple boxes of Diamond matches and they suck! I remember being able to strike and ignite on a zipper, cement, bark, etc., but no more. Heck, they hardly ignite on the box striker. Suggestions?

    McClellands Holiday Spirit

Thanks, but today I got lucky. One of the fellows in my pipe club sold me a tin of 2017 Holiday Spirit and a tin of Christmas Cheer. Yahoo!

    McClellands Holiday Spirit

Sounds interesting. I’m new to this site and not sure how sure hiw to discuss price. IM?

    McClellands Holiday Spirit

OMG, this stuff has been an absolute favorite, but I’m about to run out. Has anyone found a good match or substitute? I don’t smoke a lot of aromatic’s, but this one just sits so well with a splash of rum.

    A Few Vauens

These are all the McRooty series. The nose warmer is model 010, the rusticated is 511 and the middle is 011.

    A Few Vauens

What a great day to smoke a Vauen, and bust open a tin of McClelland’s Holiday Spirit! The Cocoa and Rum blast from the tin and the taste is divine! Happy Turkey Day from Colorado.

    Vauen McRooty Pipes

Well, it looks like nobody else has any info either, at this point in time. Here is what one looks like, after I polished the sterling silver ring.

    Vauen McRooty Pipes

I just acquired 4 Vauen pipes from the McRooty series, model 010, 011, 013 and a 511. The are beautiful, new in the box, pipes with fantastic sterling silver bands. The dot is white, or possibly very light gray, but I can’t tell for sure. I know they are an old line, but I can‘t seem to find any...

    Sugar Barrel Match

For those Codgers, and I definately meet the definition, who remember the old OTC Sugar Barrel, this is pretty darn close. No sugar taste, but lots if good Burley and a pinch of Virginia. Nutty ,woodsy, and for me, a nice room note, as I’m not concerned about what others smell, the tobacco is...

    Prince Albert Match

I’m trying another Match tobacco again today. PA Match, is a nice ribbon cut which loads nicely in my Stanwell Trio 11filtered pipe I picked up in Germany. Besides really liking the pipe, I really like the tobacco! No goop, and smokes to an ash at the bottom of the bowl. One relight. Definite...

    Match Carter Hall

For shits and giggles. I’ve smoked the original, and enjoyed it, but at a great price break, it sounded like worthy of a try.

    Match Carter Hall

Ok, you guys, I just ordered some Chatham Manor. I hold you all personally responsible for your recommendation! LOL. AS I love Burely, I’m sure this will prove to be great. I just finished a bowl of Field and Stream Match. Love it. I smoke some many years ago and really enjoyed it, especially...

    Match Carter Hall

So, I bought a few ounces of various “match” tobaccos recently, and lit up a bowl yesterday of Carter Hall. Yuk! I smoked it in a Rossi 8611, a Bent Dublin. It was harsh, to say the least. It was a bit moist, and required several relights, to the point I cleaned out the bowl. My tongue suffered...

*** What Are You Smoking? *** (October, 2019)

A night cap. I rarely smoke anything but Burely, but while living in Germany over the summer, I discovered this product. Oh my. By itself it‘s wonderful, but I like to add it as a topper to a bowl of Burley Flake. The pipe is a Vauen Deluxe Panel. A qüick bowl and a shot of Sambucca and in the...

*** What Are You Smoking? *** (October, 2019)

I‘ve had a bowl of #4, but I’m not a big fan of Latakia. The Burley was great, and pronounced, with the Latakia a smokey condiment. Pretty nice.

*** What Are You Smoking? *** (October, 2019)

I‘ve yet to try #3. Good stuff? Can‘t find it in Whoville, so will have to order it.

*** What Are You Smoking? *** (October, 2019)

On the river today with a vintage Yellow Bowl and a no name Prince from the 60’s. It was 35 and they kept my hands warm. Tobacco was a Lane Coffee.
