    Just Got My First Falcon

Rings were always more trouble than they are worth for me, no problems not using them. Dark stained bowls can be a little funky at first, just power through the taste for a few bowls and then you are off to the races.

    Halloween/Fall Pipes

A couple of Ollie’s I bust out in the fall.

    New Falcon Meer

I will have to check it out. Thanks for the tip.

    New Falcon Meer

I’ll play along. Here’s my desk set with a rack I made which holds a couple more more bowls in the back. They are fun for sure, must have 20 or so of various vintages.

    New Falcon Meer

    Very nice.

    A New Affliction, P-TAD

I’ve made dozens over the years. I gave away my most recent batch, but if you don’t mind a used one, PM me your address and I’ll send you one. Otherwise, I should be whittling up some more in a bit.

    A New Affliction, P-TAD

I have more tampers than is probably prudent. Whenever I have some extra shop time, I seem to make a new one. On conference calls, I’ve even started whittling a few, definitely afflicted lol.

    Falcon Shillelagh Question

I found the tube doesn't go quite as far into the bowl with them. Your's looks like there is a burr in the end of the tube/ tube is pinched closed a little. Gently filing it open with a round needle file should get rid of it and open up the draw.

Interesting Pipe Rack, But Who Made It?

Totally agree. Beat up Decatur pipe racks are one thing, but nice vintage examples I leave alone and use them to display smaller pipes.

Interesting Pipe Rack, But Who Made It?

A lot of older racks are small by today's standards which can be a challenge. I find that Falcons tend to fit fine which is kind of ironic that my oldest racks hold my weirdest looking pipes.

    Tin Arts and Crafts Time

Very cool idea. I jumped on the clock band wagon to get rid of tins. Stick a magnet on the back and you have a neat workshop clock. Saves me from buying a few gifts every year.

    D&R Bulk at SP

I have D&R Virginias and VaPers pretty heavily stocked. Really hard to beat for the price and great for the summertime.

Missouri Hard Wood Pipe For a Beginner?

Velvet is one of my favorite codger blends, and I always keep a tub around. I also like Mixture 79 so my tastes might be suspect lol.

There Appears To Be A New Law In The UK Regarding Loose Tobacco Sales.

We had a health plan just like that for a few years. Don’t smoke (verified with blood test) you get a “discount”. Cholesterol, blood sugar normal, get a “discount”. Weight within normal limits, another “discount”. They were incentives to be healthy as the savings were significant. The funny...

Missouri Hard Wood Pipe For a Beginner?

My travel pipes are briars I bought from RNAtreasures and finished myself. They go on sale for $5 from time to time and honestly can’t be beat from a value standpoint. That’s coming from a hardcore cob fan.

What Should I Expect with This Type of Pipe?

Falcons are definitely worth a try. I waited years to get my first one, and currently have a bunch. For me they just plain work. I too haven't noticed much difference in block vs. meerschaum lined in terms of smoking quality.

Packing For Moving And Look What I Found

Zippo makes a 1941 Replica. I have a brushed Chrome and like it. https://www.zippo.com/search?q=1941+replica+-title%3Ahidden+-product_type%3AOPTIONS_HIDDEN_PRODUCT

Perhaps A Dumb Question: Packing Aromatics

I pack everything loose, you can always tamp later. Works well for wetter tobaccos.

A Little Something To Make The Pipe Life Easier.

A junk store find I use in the shop made from an old PO Box door. There are lots of interesting containers out there if you use some imagination.

    D&R Vengeur Silver

I keep Three Sails, Picayune, and Rimboche SJ heavily cellared. It's almost hard not to when they are like $20/pound sometimes a lot less on sale. They all punch way above their weight price wise. D&R blends can have funky cuts and are dry as a bone, but they sure are fun.
