    My First Radice

Super stoked about my IPSD purchase from smoking pipes. It's a humungous unsmoked Radice estate. I love the author shape and have many Savinelli 320s. In the pics I have put a couple next to the Radice to get a sense of how big it is.

What Pipes Were New For Savinelli in 2010?

I came across an old advert for new Savinellis from 2016. The Spinosa really caught my eye and it happens to be the year my youngest was born. Now I'm in a quest for a "birth year" Spinosa 320 😄 It got me wondering what pipes were new or added to the line for Savinelli in 2010, the year my...

    Different Honeys

Inspired by Sun Bear Tupelo, I bought some different Honeys from Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati. It was nice to compare the different flavors. There really is a difference between types.

    Smoldering Sprinkle

I have started sprinkling a little bit of tobacco on top right after the first relight of my bowl. Puffing slowly, just barely keeping it lit, has really impove the flavors. Works particularly well with flakes. I recommend trying it out. It has deepened the flavor for me.

Book Review: Five Decembers by J. Kestrel

So I was fortunate enough to get an advanced copy of this book, and I was so excited. "Five Decembers" begins in the fall of 1941 with a gruesome crime in Hawaii and a Honolulu PD detective who is put on the case. It turns out the victim had a relative in high places which adds to the pressure...

Travel/ Everyday Carry Bag Recomendations And Options

I smoked a pipe everyday at work on my lunch break. I like to bring multiple blends and multiple pipes because I never know what mood I will be in when it comes time. I usually have three glass jars in a Dopp kit with accessories, two or three pipes in the manufacturers drawstring bags, and all...

Narrow Draft on New Pipe. Advice?

I bought a beautiful Sav 316 Tundra EX that is huge. I love the look. I have not smoked it yet but have tested the draw and it is really narrow and restricted. The hole or channel in the stem is really small, smaller than I am use to. All of my other pipes, including several Savs, have...

    PAD Year In Review 2020

I went a solid 5 plus years without buying any pipes. I used about 4 pipes in heavy rotation. This year however I went overboard and bought several. All of these I purchased this year. Happy with all except the Neerup at the bottom. I can't get that one to lose it's weird flavor.
