    Ah the Unconscious Mind

We just welcomed our newest addition to our family, a little girl. So, for the past months we have been playing the name game. I don't play that game well (kind of hate it in fact). But after much debate and back and forth we found a name we both liked, which I suggested, Piper. We named our...

Found Potential Affordable New Pipe Bag

So I'm doing test runs on a potential new pipe bag. This is the HAMS bag from LA Police Gear (HAMS = holds all my shit). I have no affiliation with the vendor, just sharing something that may be of interest to others. Price is $19.99. Little Smokies moral patch extra. This is intended as a...

New Commission From Our Very Own Clickklick, #125

Just received my first commissioned pipe and from our very own Clickklick. My pictures don't do this beauty justice. The birdseye grain is stunning. The stem work is great as well. Can't wait to give it a test drive!

    Finally Bought A Pete

Well I finally broke down and bought a Peterson. I've eyeballed numerous ones over time, even bid on some on the bay. But last week on a whim I stopped in to the local B&M and what do I find? A couple dozen tins, restocked bulk offerings, and a greatly increased number of pipes. Really a...

    Happy St. Patricks Day!

In the spirit of the day, a blessing: As we slide down the banister of life may the splinters never point in the wrong direction.

Who Else Does This Type of Rustication/Blast?

Who else does this type of Rustication/blast? This seems like an unusual rustication on a Pete as well. I recall seeing a Joe Case egg shape pipe with similar Rustication/blast and I should have bought it when I had the chance. I have looked since and not seen any others by him with similar...

What is This Pipe/Too Nice For Basket Pipe?

This is a strange one. Seems to be an anonymous basket pipe but at the same time seems too well made to be a basket pipe. It is a vulcanite Cumberland stem. Drilling and fit is near perfect. The stem is even drilled with an ever so slight tapered airway. Anyone have any info on these...

    Anybody Tried Circus Yet?

It sure sounds strange/interesting, "Hardly has the flame kissed the tobacco than a salty caramel popcorn aroma takes over the ring. A broken Virginia provides a cool burn. Aromas of lemons wafting through the ring. The caramel sweetness gradually wears off and a creamy taste of honey spreads...

    Favorite BBQ Sauce?

Just finished up on the grill with some bbq chicken. Tonight I used a marinate based around one of my favorite bbq sauces, Famous Dave's Rich and Sassy, with some extra sauce on the side. For me, this one hits all the right notes on the grill. I used to be a Sweet Baby Day's devotee but found...

    2 Mystery Pipes, Same Maker

I recently aquired a pipe which has similar markings to another I have. Both of which do not conform to what is known about the brand which is stamped on the pipes, BBB. They certainly have the BBB logo, but they are not stamped with any country of origin. To my knowledge, the font used on...

    I Saw That Pipe!

Every time I grab a pipe or a jar of tobacco my dog gets crazy. He climbs into my lap and stares at me because he knows that means we are going outside. Can’t hide the pipe in my pocket either; there’s no fooling his sniffer. Silly lovable bastard. Begs to go with then groans and growls at the...

Jobey Pipe Refurbishment And Contrast Stain

I bought this a long while back with the express intent of stripping it and trying my hand at a contrast stain on it. It was a pretty nice pipe to begin with but it was a rather muted yellow color (looked worse in person). I call it a refurb as opposed to a restoration as the pipe had no major...

    Question On Pipe Tenons

I am trying to build knowledge on pipe construction. Often I see mention of a delrin tenon or some other material. What is the reason the tenon is a separate component of the stem? Why not just turn the tenon out the primary stem material? Could it be a matter of strength or material properties?

So I Accidentally Bought A Kaywoodie, My Nicest

I made a bit of an order of magnitude error on my eBay auto bid and ended up spending more than I planned to on a Kaywoodie auction I was interested in. Boy did I get lucky. What arrived today is one of nicest Kaywoodie Flame Grain pipes I have seen personally. I gave the stem a little...

How To Remove Stain Without Sanding?

What's the best way to strip pipe stain without sanding? I've tried wiping with acetone, iso, even baking soda and vinegar. I'm working on restaining a Kaywoodie and I do not want to sand down the stamping. Do I need to soak the stummel in solvent? I don't seem to be even making a dent in...

FYI For My Fellow Scotch Lovers

If any of you enjoy a good dram of single malt like I do and I know some of you do (You have been recognized. Let's say by one of your opposite numbers...). If you haven't already stocked up now is the time. There will be a 25% tariff imposed on Scotch starting on Oct 18th. I'll be grabbing...

    Received My Nording Woodcock But...

Just received my Nording Woodcock but the tamper won't be used much. Doesn't even fit in the bowl lol. Oh well it's still a beauty. I found it in a B&M Thursday and couldn't resist. Had it shipped to me with some tobacco. I'll test it out this afternoon, with a different tamper.

GH Dark Flake Scented Smells Like...

Copenhagen! I don't know why but my first instinct upon opening my bag of Dark Flake Scented is it smells like opening a tin of Copenhagen. It doesn't take like Copenhagen when smoked but the smell is distinctive. What does it's smell remind you of?

Can Anyone Identify This BBB "Custom Made" Pipe?

I just bought this panel billiard BBB which was claimed to be unsmoked. Well I liked the shape and the price even though the markings don't scream BBB. Can anyone shed some light on what this is? It certainly does seem to be unsmoked. It definitely has BBB in a diamond on the shank but no...

    Odd P&C RO62 Order

It has been a while since I ordered from P&C, but I recently saw their sale on SPC tobacco so I figured I would stock up on some Plum Pudding SR and add a couple that I hadn't had before. I also recalled some mention of RO62 being created for Mr. Ouellette's birthday. So, I put a "slice" of...
