So I Bought a Cheap "Star" Lighter

It was not a lot of modifying at all, took me less than 10 minutes. And I am far from hard on my lighters, I even carried it in a belt pouch. I did mind the taste/smell of fluid when I was smoking cigarettes, but to be honest, with pipes I´ve only noticed it 5-6 times and it goes away in a few...

So I Bought a Cheap "Star" Lighter

So when I was buying Zippo lighter fluid a month ago I picked up a Star "Zippo-style" lighter as it was only 8 bucks. I own five real Zippos and I can´t really say that I´m too happy with them. My pipe Zippo had to be sent in after about a month due to a bad hinge (would not close properly), and...

    Greetings from Norway

Thanks all! Nice to see some other scandies here too! sajgre - I can order whatever I want as long as there is no tobacco. Pipes, tools, lighters are alright, but citizens cannot import tobacco, only companies. greatdane - Well, Tiedemann is still available (afaik), but only as RYO and...

    Capstan Navy Cut Medium replacement?

I just bought an empty tin of Capstan Navy Cut Medium... will look great in my quite respectable Tolkien collection!

    Greetings from Norway

First - I apologize for the bad grammar in the first post. I used to be quite fluent, but haven´t written english in a long time... and I´ve had a few damn nice beers while sipping SG Black Forest tonight. Sorry, not sorry :) I would edit if I could, but time´s gone out. Borkum smoked well...

    Greetings from Norway

My name is Bjorn, a relatively new pipe smoker from Norway. My first real experience with pipes was about 10 or 11 years ago in college with a friend. I had a pipe from my late grandfather (unknown make, might post a picture to see if anyone can identify it, let me know if interested) and we...

    Capstan Navy Cut Medium replacement?

I´m looking for something similar to the old Navy Cut Medium, but I have no idea when it disappeared, so I guess I need input from someone who has smoked said tobacco. I might give them a shot anyways, thanks, Mike.

    Capstan Navy Cut Medium replacement?

Well, I really want to taste the same-ish tobacco that Tolkien smoked, but alas, Capstan Navy Cut Medium is long gone. Some say Original, but I trust his son who´s said Medium. Does anyone know of something similar?

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (January 2019)

I think there will be a lot of Samuel Gawith Black Forest in my future, I liked that one a lot, will probably write a review later. Also puffing on some Sørensen Mixture (nice aromatic), Borkum Riff (better than expected) and Nightcap (a lot milder than expected). Smoked in MM Mizzou, MM Pride...

Which poker am I looking for?

Very nice, MSO, I like bowl and the price, only thing I "need" on my poker is a straight bit.

    Pipes with metal insert basket?

Nothing wrong with starting with a cob or two, would highly recommend it.

Which poker am I looking for?

Thanks for all suggestions! Well, this didn´t get any easier, I ordered a MM Dagner Poker, so I have something to use while I read up on which briar poker to get...

Which poker am I looking for?

I´m looking for a poker shaped briar pipe for travel, and preferably not with the worlds widest bowl, optimally about 18-20mm diameter. I really like the shape and size of the MM Poker, but would like this pipe to be briar, and the probably best looking poker I´ve seen so far is the SederCraft...

Poked a hole through my cob

I did a mud-only repair last night and so far it looks good. If I put my thumb over the bowl and either blow or suck there is a tiiiny bit of air, but for some reason I can´t figure out where the leak is. Might just be in my head. Anyways, it´s so little that I would say that it´s good for...

"Burned" tongue tip after smoking too much or too intensely

When first starting out 10 years ago, me and my friend had some issues with this as well, smoking Holger Danske Vanilla & Mango. We started to load our pipes hours before smoking and then puffing a lot slower. I guess if one of those things doesn´t work, do both. Drying and slowing down.

Poked a hole through my cob

I would definitely get a new pipe if I lived in the US. I live in Norway so it´s a little bit of a hassle with the order and import taxes and stuff. I tend to want to order for more than $40, which puts import taxes on the wares. That being said, my order from MM made it to the middle of Norway...

Poked a hole through my cob

Hi, folks! I just had an accident with my new favorite pipe, the MM Mizzou. I was poking an airhole through the tobacco with my tool and suddenly I heard the sticker on the bottom move. The tip of the tool went through, but not so far that it went through the sticker. I am not the most...
