Tobacconist in New Orleans?
Been there at the beginning of December, Mayan import is a really nice place. Don't expect a huge selection of pipe tobaccos but not bad at all and the tins you can find have often a few years of aging already. They do have a good selection of pipes but they are pretty pricey, unfortunately.- swan

Is Pipe Tobacco Currently Threatened in USA?
Well, at this point I would definitely say YES to this topic question. last year the bill HR2339 was only stopped by one party that will no longer able to do so. Therefore at this point I am afraid it might come back soon and that would be a big blow to our hobby :(- swan

Honestly on my tin the “lakeland essence” was just chocolate. A vaper flake with a very noticeable chocolate topping. Luckily I only got two tins but if I knew I would have only purchased one, definitely a “meh” tobacco, imho.- swan

I understand that they are hoping that the situation will go back to normal or almost in a month from now but a good portion of the attendance is made by Chinese buyers and I don't think that many of them...- swan

it is actually a serious illness for everybody. When they talk about “mild symptoms” they are including pneumonia which, in normal times, it is not considered “mild” by any mean. Be careful you all,I am following the recommendations hope everybody is doing it as well- swan

Well, I was originally supposed to go but the situation is serious. The show should have been canceled and I am really afraid this will happen to Chicago too. Big big events (not pipe related) planned for late summer have already been canceled. This will definitely be a weird year.- swan

Chicago Pipe Show 2020 Plans
I am very hesitant about booking my trip, this coronavirus situation is really looking bad and it is highly possible that the event will not take place at all, as many other events are being canceled nationwide and globally. Or if it will there will probably not be people from Europe and Asia...- swan

How To Fight H.R. 2339 Legislation
Considering the FDA deeming rule PIPES are now considered tobacco product. So this bill would also prohibit the sale of pipes, according to this interpretation.- swan

This is awful. This law would immediately kill pipe smoking but it will not affect vaping by anything. Kids buy F2F as most of them don't have credit cards or bank account. They can't buy online. This is so sad and frustrating, also I don't think it will not pass senate, everybody like to look...- swan

Reissued Dunhill Blends vs Old Dunhill Blends
They are exactly the same and my 2 cents on that is that they purchased the names for the FDA rule, if it will apply. They confirmed the recipe and the compliance with FDA on a recent interview for Tobacco Business magazine.- swan

C&D Carolina Red Flake Grade, What Does it Mean?
Yup I searched the entire website but I was not able to find any D grade. It is a Gov website so all the info should be there, nothing should be missing. Still, D1A and the others are missing.- swan

Thank you. I had checked this link but still, I cannot find anything similar to the grades specified by C&D, there is no "D" grade. Also, on the youtube video the explanation was not very clear to me, seemed more of a sort of "internal" grading system. I will ask C&D at this point...- swan

Italian Pipemaker: Anyone smoke a Paolo Corso Pipe?
He is not a pipemaker, he mostly sell estate pipes. I am not sure who makes them and the latest ones have a pretty different style than the older ones (with the “charatan”-like logo). But I am pretty sure they are made by others and stamped with his name.- swan

Oil Cured Italian Pipes
Capri and Punto Oro corallo were not oil cured. For a period also Becker & Musico and Foundation offered Oil Cured pipes. Currenlty only Gilli is regularly offering oil cured pipes and they are really excellent pipes- swan
