    Bad Karma

I ran into a young guy who had bought a fine artisan pipe. He was proud of it but there was a problem. He was about to get married and his wife to be, was upset he had spent so much with a wedding pending. I offered him pennies on the dollar and reminded him how upset his bride would be every...

Reissued Dunhill Blends vs Old Dunhill Blends

Has anyone tried the "new" Peterson blends vs the old Dunhill blends? I think the the reissued 965 is much closer than the match that is out there. Now I'm comparing the Elizabethan Mix to the old stuff and the match. Your thoughts? EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title - Bob

People coming out of the woods

Is it just me? It seems to me the new site is bringing out a lot of new posters that I have not seen before or at least in a long time. Don't take this wrong, I think it's good. I didn't know so many people lurked out there. I better watch what I say a little closer.

    It's all relative.

I was thinking about my hobbies/vices, their cost and where pipe smoking fits in. A box of say 9mm which will last 15 mins at the range is about $12.00 if you don't reload and who only shoots one box? Think about a weekend elk hunting, maybe you shouldn't. A one day ski lift ticket is a minimum...

Why did you start pipe smoking

What motivated you to start smoking pipes? Get off cigarettes, your father smoked pipes, irritate spouse, look cool, etc?

    Match blends

As we see companies disappear, we see match blends spring up quickly or the blends be resurrected under license to other companies. Will we ever see Frog Morton comeback to life? I starting to get down to the last few tins and I'm starting to panic.

    How do you smoke

When I have a day to kill in the shop/man cave, etc...I tend to load up 4 or so pipes with different blend and start with mild and work my way to wild as the day goes. When driving long distance I tend to stick to a single blend. In the evening before hitting the hay, I tend to smoke a single...

    How dry is too dry

I just found a pouch of SWRA which has been hidden in my glove box for some time. I threw it in the glove box because it didn't taste that good to me when it was fresh. It was VERY dry. I decided to give it a try. I actually liked it better than when fresh. I will admit it smoked hot if you...

Here are two more yard sale finds. $5.00 for both. One is a Dr.G Royal Duke. The other just says "Regent" "Imported Briar". Both smoke well after I cleaned them but the Dr.G is a smaller bowl than I'm used to.
