    Matches vs. Lighters

For the same reason some choose matches, I use a zippo. Nostalgia. I like the clink and click noises of it opening and closing. Re-lights are a treat to my ears and the comforting sound takes me back to my teenage years when we'd sneak one of dads smokes or make a small campfire in the nearby...

What Kind Of Whisky To Ease This Pain

I was polishing the stem of this gorgeous Camelia bulldog estate that I picked up and it slipped out of my hand and onto the hard tile! I don't think my wife properly appreciates the silent suffering I am going through.

    Bulk alternatives to Carter Hall

I smoke mainly what I mentioned in my original post. I found CH to have a nice mild taste, almost creamy.

    Bulk alternatives to Carter Hall

It's not necessarily a cost thing, but it's sold out at SPC plus I wouldn't mind checking out a few similar tobaccos! Any suggestions?

    Bulk alternatives to Carter Hall

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm a Canadian and so SPC has cheap international shipping and as a result gets a lot of my business. I don't think P&C does international shipping.

    Bulk alternatives to Carter Hall

I've been into pipes now for just over a year and have mainly been into the aromatic tobaccos like 1Q, RLP6, and HGL. For fun I had ordered some Carter Hall and Sir Walter Raleigh a while back and I tried it out this week and I really liked them. I'm still a beginner pipe smoker suffering...

My First "Real" Pipe - a Savinelli Venere 606KS

    @dottiewarden I packed a nice bowl of Sutliff 504C.

My First "Real" Pipe - a Savinelli Venere 606KS

It had its maiden voyage this past weekend and smoked great. Because of its lighter finish I am concerned about rim charring though! I use a regular zippo without the pipe insert so I'm going to have to be extra careful.

    First Castello

    Nice pipe, and great style!

Thanks, everyone. Sea Captain - those 316's look amazing.

My First "Real" Pipe - a Savinelli Venere 606KS

My first real pipe arrived. I have a few cobs, and a Piazzolla straight billiard that I love more every time I use it, but this one caught my eye and I took the plunge. Here it is on SPC And in my possesion! The inaugural smoke will be this weekend at my scotch club "meeting". I can't wait to...

Welcome aro222. If you like 1Q also have a look at Lanes RLP-6!

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (March 2018)

Some Lane 1Q in a mm Missouri Pride cob! Goes good with a nice cup of tea.

    Lane Limited HGL

After going back and forth between RLP-6 and HGL I have now seen the light. I am really enjoying it. RLP-6, while still really good, almost feels like it's missing a bit of body when compared to the HGL.

    Hello from Minnesota

    Welcome Philip!

    Lane Limited HGL

Interesting - I picked up some HGL because I heard it was like RLP with a bit of smokiness. I've only had a couple bowls but it is not really to my liking. I really enjoy RLP so I'm chalking it up to an inexperienced palate and will keep up with the odd bowl to see if my taste for it evolves.
