Thinking About Switching to a Safety Razor -Any Advice?

I have used this exact model for over a decade and have been happy with it. I will say it does not give as close a shave (to me, anyway: I have a tough beard) as the fancy, space-age 14-bladed razors being produced; but the blades are a hell of a lot more reasonable in price, and I decided I...

What Is Your Fav Bulk Non-Lat or VaPer blends?

Another Luxury Bullseye Flake fan here, although I'd advise jarring some off for at least a couple of years. When I first tried the stuff, I thought it tasted like something out of my lawn mower. After two years in the jar, it's fantastic.

Pipe Spotting: "1917" Vs. "They Shall Not Grow Old"

1917: One pipe They Shall Not Grow Old: Pipes a-plenty (as the dead cat swings) Both very good, but I would have thought the makers of 1917 would have seen They Shall Not Grow Old and picked up on the abundance of pipes in that time period. Oh well. Is it too much to ask for the invention of...

    Bulk Vs. Tins.

I think that's what I'm experiencing with MM965 right now...bulk just ain't as good (to me).

    All Day Burley Recommendations?

Apologies if I'm off base but I haven't seen Edward G. Robinson mentioned yet. Although it's not all burley, burley makes itself known in the blend...and right now I can't get enough of the dang stuff.

I Like Paper Pipe And Tobacco Catalogs

I'm a fan of paper catalogs of all kinds, and frequently pore through them and jot down little "stuff I want" lists, even if most of those things I'll never have. Have been doing it since I was a kid, when I'd hover over the Sears "Wish Book" for hours. I even have a reprint of a Sears Roebuck...

    Is Cake Important? Why?

Me too. My workbench and trashcan is loaded with dirty, corkscrewed sections of paper towel (which I like to call "pig peckers"). Look it up if you don't get it. Actually, don't look it up.

Very informative read; I had no idea falling tobacco could be dangerous like that! Thanks for sharing!

    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

I had bought a pound of MM965 bulk back when it was apparent Dunhill was going bye-bye. It seemed to lack something that the tin version had. Now that Peterson has picked up the baton, 10 tins are en route. I'll save the bulk for lean times.

    Hot Water Flush For Cobs?

I'm a fan of the hot water flush on my briars, due to the general defunkification it applies. How about cobs, though? I just got my first MM, with a forever stem (shameless plug: forever stems are great!), and I got to wondering if the cob would handle the water in the same way (more porous than...
