    Search for The Endurance

My favorite adventure story also happens to be true: Ernest Shackleton and The Endurance. I’ve read and watched numerous books and shows on the subject. I ran across this article on the anniversary of the sinking of the ship. The hardships those men endured were unspeakable. It will be...

    Mulled Ale?

So I was watching an old British Pathe and they showed an old man putting a hot poker ina glass of ale. They called it mulled ale. I was wondering what exactly is that? Does anybody know how it’s made?

    St. Bruno Question

I’ve never smoked St. Bruno. I’ve had it in my online cart a few times but end up deleting it because of the Lakeland that’s in it. I’ve only ever had one tobacco with Lakeland and I thought it was one of the most horrendous things I’ve ever tasted. It’s one of those old time tobaccos that I...

    New Online Order

I’ve been frequenting my local B&M recently so it’s been a long time since I’ve bought online. Yesterday I put in my first order in almost two years. I was feeling like trying some new stuff so along with my usual purchases of Chelsea Morning, Quiet Nights and Edgar G. Robinson, I included the...

    Favorite Holiday for Food?

Now that the turkey and trimmings have been consumed, it begs the question, what is your favorite holiday in terms of the food? For me, growing up in a Polish household in Western Pennsylvania our New Years Day meals were the highlight of the year. Kielbasa, sauerkraut, pierogis, pagach...

    Discontinued Blends?

I have a question for those who are much more knowledgeable about pipe tobacco than I. Why are some blends no longer available in the US? What makes a blend disappear? I am not a huge fan of aromatics but two of my all time favorites were Peterson‘s Luxury Blend and Nutty Cut. Those blends are...

How Do I Find Information about a Pipe?

I bought this pipe years ago at an antique shop because I liked the look of it. It got tossed in a drawer and forgotten about until recently. I haven’t done any cleaning on it yet. The side says imported briar and there’s an Italy stamp on the bottom.

    Any OTR Listeners?

I’m 43 but I’ve always preferred old radio shows over movies. My favorite is probably Johnny Dollar. I also enjoy Basil Rathbone’s Sherlock Holmes and the occasional Gunsmoke.

    Prince Albert Match?

My favorite codger blends are Half and Half and Prince Albert. I’m about a third of the way through my tub of PA but can’t bring myself to pay the current asking price for another. Has anyone tried the less expensive match version? How does it compare?

    Perique Recommendations?

I’m primarily an English smoker but I would like to get into blends that contain a sizable chunk of perique. I like all tobaccos but am not much into Kentucky. Any recommendations?

    Need Help with a Match

Hello all, About three years ago I purchased a tin of Russ Oulette’s Acadian English. I opened it and put in in a mason jar and left it in the cellar.Today I had my first bowl of it and it blew me away! The aroma, taste and burn was absolutely perfect. The downside is that the blend is no...
