Morta Squat Author, cool rusticated look, classy stem

I really like the Savinelli author pipes but I find them to be too big for what I want right now. Martin at C Pipes made this small morta author style pipe with this really cool stem and really cool rusticated look. Perfect size pipe for what I am looking for. Length is 4.2 inches, and bowl...

    Rope/Twist tobacco storage

I have 500 grams GH Happy Brown Bogie, and 500 grams Brown Irish Twist coming in this week. I will be storing these rope tobaccos in mason jars. How do you guys fill the mason jars with this tobacco? Do you shove it the jar kind of weaving around the inside of the jar with the rope tobacco...

    Morta Falcon bowl

The guy that recently made my morta pipe, made a Falcon pipe bowl out of morta for his personal pipe. I have seen some custom Falcon bowls made out of briar, but this is the first time I have seen one made out of morta. Check it out.

Gawith & Hoggarth Best Brown Flake #2

When I first acquired this tobacco back in 2010, I really enjoyed the big sweet smooth flavors. I have to say that "essence" they use can be a bit too floral for some since it had a big presence when I first got this tobacco. Some folks describe it soapy, and I have to agree with this...

    Stonehaven Revisited

Beautiful dark brown reddish dark brown/black flake, with this amazing aroma of sweet raisins dipped in rum. Usually I fold and stuff flake tobacco but I decided to rub out this flake for pipe packing. After having an amazing smoking experience with Penzance, I was very excited about smoking...

    Penzance Revisited

I was very lucky to acquire a bag each of Stonehaven and Penzance back in 2011. A customer of one of my online shops ordered these bags and ended up not being able to pay for them. The opportunity was there and I was able to acquire them. I recall trying the Penzance and Stonehaven at that time...

Why plugs like Murray's, McQuaid, Condor, others not sold in the USA

I love plug tobaccos like Peterson's 3 P's, G&H Dark Plug, Jacknife Plug, SG Plugs. I am curious why the brands mentioned in the thread title are not sold here in the USA? Or are they sold in the USA but hard to find? Love the ritual of prepping plug tobacco, and usually deeper fuller flavors.

    SG FVF Review

This flake is from a 2006 bulk box. The flake aroma reminds me of sweet dried fruits like raisins. It smelled so good I wanted to eat it. The flake is dark with white sugar crystals. I was going to use me Nording pipe but once I rolled it to stuff in my pipe, the pipe was too small, so I used a...

Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bulls Eye Flake

I always like the presentation of flakes in a box. I was going to get some Escudo (flake coins) but the price of the PS LBF is hard to pass up, so I pounced. One of the best deals out there from PipesAndCigars.com. You can pick up a pound and a half for around $50 including shipping. I am a...

    Dunhill Nightcap opinions please

Dunhill Nightcap was the first non-aeromatic tobacco I tried back in mid 1980's. I remember the cool blue and yellow tin, and I recall the dominant smokey aroma I later discovered was the Latakia tobacco. Having smoked only aromatic tobaccos I was getting at the local Tinder Box, I recall that...

    Lancers Slices Bulk

Decided to go with the Lancers Slices. I was expecting a big bag of broken flake all cut up and shoved in a bag. Turns out they pack this tobacco in long flake format, that is folded in half and bagged in a foil air tight bag. The flakes are 12 to 14 inches long. The photo of the individual...

Found an old old friend (pipe)

I was going through some old boxes and found a Ben Wade freestyle pipe I bought back around 1989 (college days). I thought I lost it years ago. I think I will smoke some Peterson University Flake with it.

    SG FVF...from 2006

Luckiest score ever! I acquired this fine tobacco (bulk and tins, I am not sure the age of the tins) about 2 months ago from a really good guy, but I was very sick when I got it. So I laid off until the time was right. Tomorrow will be the right time. I plan on enjoying this tobacco during the...

    SG St James Flake

Smoking a bowl, watching Ducks vs Chicago hockey game. Wow, this tobacco is really good. There's a good amount of sweetness, and some peppery spice in the background. Very rich tasting that lingers on the palate. Has a very nice aroma. A bit of a head spinner as well. I was told this tobacco...

    Peterson's 3P's (Perfect Plug)

I did an experiment with this fine tobacco. The first few bowls I used the rub out method of preparing the sliced tobacco. Then filled the bowl to smoke. I thought the flavors were pretty good as described in the original post. Then I decided to try the fold and stuff method. I thought it would...

    La Escepcion Pipe Tobacco (Cuba)

A fine brick of pipe tobacco from Cuba. I look forward to trying this. It is a bit dry so I will be letting it sit in a mason jar to rehydrate (slowly) for a couple weeks. I'll be in Mexico on Friday for a two week trip, so I will be hitting this pipe tobacco when I return. 8) I unwrapped...
