    Lane vs. Captain Black

Id like to compare Lane RLP-6 with Captain Black bulk(instead of OTC pouch).

    How do you smoke

On average I'd say about 2 bowls per day. Usually a no frills codger blend on the way to work and a more interesting vaper on the way home. On the weekends I may get 3-4 bowls going of different vaoers and maybe throw in an english later in the evening.

Anything I am missing? New smoker advice.

One of the most valuable tools I have used to enjoy my pipe smoking is TIME. Taking the TIME, Id say about an hour and a half to actually sit down or walk about and enjoy my pipe has been the single most valuable lesson I have learned from smoking the pipe. Using valuable TIME to smoke a pipe...

Help Me Select a Daily Smoke?

Lane Black Raspberry could probably do the trick.

    Mac Baren Mixture Scottish Blend

I get bit by both scottish blend and plumcake. I suppose there is room deep in my cellar in which I can hide these 2 blends in hopes that one day they will not bite.

Getting and noticing the most out of your Tobacco

When I first started smoking a pipe I jumped all around with trying different blends, usually 2-3 different blends a day. All this did for me was exhaust my palate, especially when I went from a latakia blend to a straight virginia or would fry my tongue with wet aromatics. I just could not pick...

Are C&D Bulks Not As Good?

My favorite C&D blend is Poplar Camp and that one ONLY comes in bulk. Folks have asked why there is no tinned version, implying that a tinned version would somehow be better?

What Music Are You Listening To ~ February 2019

In your opinion, can quality tobacco "ghosting" be a good thing?

I recently swapped a pipe I had committed to english blends and started smoking a Va/Per in it and I was pleasantly surprised at how the ghosting really enhanced the experience, especially towards the end of the bowl.

How Many of You Lucky Dogs Get to Smoke Inside?

As a new years resolution, I have decided to put my TAD and PAD on hold so that I can save up enough money to buy another house, one that I can smoke inside. I should probably have enough money by the end of the year.

    DIY Casing/top coat Recipe?

The Constellation has enough backbone for me and thats why I prefer it to HGL. What it lacks is an aromatic quality that is present in HGL. I figured a topping could help this but maybe I could just add some flavored black cavendish and see what happens. hopefully it would not weaken it too much.

    DIY Casing/top coat Recipe?

Hello there fellow pipe smokers, Id like to turn one of my favorite blends, C&Ds Constellation into something similar to HGL. While I enjoy both blends, HGL does not have enough backbone to it and Constellation could use an Improved room note. I figured if I could create a hybrid it might be...

How Many Seconds To Hold a Flame For Lighting Tobacco?

I like to have the flame touch the tobacco for 1 second at a time until it is lit. In other words don't scorch it. putting a flame to your bowl for 30 seconds strait is a good way to ruin your entire bowl.

    Maltese Falcon

Hmmm. I have a few tins in the ol' cellar that I haven't even tried yet. Now Im afraid to find out if I like it or not because if I do, its gonna be a hassle to find!

    Maltese Falcon

AND.... its already sold out. Is there something going on with Maltese Falcon? Are folks buying it up and hoarding it?

    First Smoke Clay Pipe

I recently acquired a clay pipe and tried it out with some Christmas Cheer. I figured it was fitting because of the pic on the inside of the tin has ol' santa smoking out of one. I must say it was an interesting experience and I certainly would like to see how it benefits other blends because...

    G.L. Pease Blends

At the top of my GLP favs is Sextant, followed by Lombard, Union Square and Embarcedero. I like to give my tins a year of age before popping so I am eagerly awaiting a whole bunch of GLP blends I got hanging out in my cellar. Gaslight is at the top of that list, Followed by Quite Nights and...
