That makes 2 of us! You're the only other person who also picked it up. Maybe we have superior perception

    Czech Tool Wizardry

I keep Czech tools lying around all over the house for camping and some digging out the the dottle, but I keep the Rodgers Sheffield tool in my pocket to get into my stacks to dig 'em out, 'cause the Czech tool doesn't get to the bottom. Also like the Rodgers for the blunt knife blade for reaming.

    Clove Like Tobacco?

I too am convinced that one McClelland's secret sauce was clove. I will swear that their oriental Cavendish 2050 had quite a dose of clove. I think it was their approach to recreating that herbal tangy and musty flavor from some of the old now unobtanium orientals. It's worth trying to spray a...

    In love with an English

I like Damn near all English/Balkan mixtures, some better than others. If all I had to smoke was Engine 99, Arango Balkan Supreme and HJ Vintage Syrian, I'd be OK. Although HH ODF is mighty good.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2018)

A wonderful bowl of C&D Engine 99 in my Pibe Dan reform cabbaged tribute. I'm beginning to think I don't many other Balkan blends besides this. Glad of red plonk on the side. The plonk isn't bad either.

    Thank you Zippo!

How quickly is too quickly for you? I get 4 or 5 days or so, and that seems OK to me. Also, the cost of fuel is trivial, since I use Hardware store naptha. I think a gallon is about 19 bucks.

    Jarl pipes

Glad to see Another Jarl lover. My first decent pipe was A Jarl, some 50 years ago. So were my second and third, and may be the 7th and 8th. Couple years ago I started buying 'em on eBay, now have about 18 or 20. My favorite pipe besides my own. Hope you like them as much as I do.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2018)

Having one of my rationed smokes of biplane Balkan #2. Rationed because it's about 20% Yenice Agonya, 20% Smyrna #1, 35 % latakia, and 25% dark fired Kentucky. Smoking it in my hausgemacht elf pipe.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2018)

A fine pipeful of C&D Engine 99 (I smoke that a lot at night) in my Pibe Dan Cabbaged reform.

    English Trip

Might take the opportunity to get a Blakemar pipe. Decently priced and good. Not pipe related, but if you are into book collecting, on Charing Cross Road there are fabulous used book stores. Or at least there were the last time I was there some years ago.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2018)

HH ODF of course in a W.O. Larsen full bent. Bowl almost as deep as my stacks.
