    Got My Cellar, Now What?

I try to only open my jars and tins when im ready to smoke severak bowls of that blend, but I dont always succeed. Much of my cellar is untoucyed for several years, and I look forward to digging into those aged blends. Once opened (if aged), I dont really follow those rules anymore and ill dip...

    New Small Batch Coming...

I don't fault them for advertising. I think it sounds great. Definitely interested based on that description. Go read some descriptions on a European website. They are hilarious if you thing this is excessive.

    Key Largo?

Virginias are always growing on me.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2022?***

Smoking some Star of the East Flake in my Meerqueen Meerschaum Bent Egg. Relaxing while reading a book after an early dinner.

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

Just started smoking my pipe again and I began with a tin of wessex gold slice that was sitting in my desk for a few years. Followed by some Elizabethen two years aged. Oh how i missed it. So good

    Sutliff/SPC tins?

I bought a couple pounds of the special reserve blends. I opened a tin each fresh and they were perfect. When I opened my second tin of plum Pudding I decided to jar the rest. I do think it would take at least five years and possibly more like Jim stated, but I'm a little on the paranoid side...

    Maltese Falcon

I bought an 8 oz tin right before it vanished. The same thing happened with Drucquer and Sons Levant Mixture and quiet nights to a much lesser extent. I have no knowledge of why but If I had to guess I'd say maybe they're having a hard time getting the required oriental Tobaccos short term...

    Sutliff/SPC tins?

I'm not sure about the rust but I jar all of my Seattle Pipe Club time immediately anyways because I don't like the sound of the tin when I tap on the lid. It doesn't sound like the greatest seal but what do I know? I have heard something about the integrity of their tins before also but it's...

C&D Carolina Red Flake is Back

I didn't know you could just buy a little from Mark Ryan. I only use it for my personal blending projecte I don't add it to complete blends. I am tempted to try it with a tiny amount of this virginia tho.

    Suggestions on Plug Tobacco

Smoked fresh I wasn't a big fan of Peterson 3 ps. Maybe I'll try it again soon as it's been a while. Jackknife plug is pretty good as said above, and though I haven't had it with significant age it's really good with a year on it.

Chelsea ITM VS Ashbury VS SOTE VS Arango

I've never had arango supreme but for my first smoke I'd probably choose Chelsea morning or star of the east. I tend to like a hearty first smoke of the day. Irish Flake perhaps. I need to get more of that I keep running out. Maybe it's time to break into my warhorse green.

    Jarring A Pound Of Flake

If it's a pound I would split it into three four ounce lots and put them in pint jars, and put two ounces each into two half pint jars. Personally. Those would be for smoking sooner. I wouldn't use bigger jars unless you're cellaring multiple pounds. The single time I purchase more than a...

C&D Carolina Red Flake is Back

Snagged five tins. McClelland did have great blending Perique and I do have a little left, but I'm not sure where my next source is. I have sutliff and C&D and they're both good. The granulated seems more peppery unless it's my imagination.

Found a Dunhill Nightcap in Store

Definitely smoke some. Then once it's jarred amoke some more in 6-8 months and it will be really damn good.

C&D Carolina Red Flake is Back

That's all true. They have the absolute best system for selling and distributing Esoterica and rare blends in my opinion. They deserve a ton of credit for that. The mark-ups are pretty annoying on other sites as well. I'm not going to assume anything this time, but I appreciate the fact that...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (November 2018)

Just had one of those magic smokes that is a good reminder of how hopelessly hooked I am on smoking a pipe. 18 beautiful coins of Heinrich Curly Special from 2013 stacked and loaded into my Meerqueen Bent egg. As I get deeper into the bowl and the layers of coins go up in smoke, I keep getting...

C&D Carolina Red Flake is Back

Thank you for setting the record straight Sykes, I appreciate that a lot. I'm glad my suspicions fall short of the truth. Although, in all honesty, it wouldn't bother me much personally either way if employees were given preference on occasion. I usually manage to get my hands on what I want...

C&D Carolina Red Flake is Back

Ive always suspected that employee first pick is why Penzance and Stonehaven are almost impossible to get online. In part. Since they can't just make their own time run for them

Do Aromatics get better with age too?

For American type aromatics I've never had one get better like everyone here has stated. There are a few in existence that use a lot of virginia and maybe those do? Doubt it, though especially if they're the PG laden variety.
