    Kid in a Candy Store

Holy guacamole guys. It has been a long year. My daughter was born a year ago this month, and I decided to hang up the pipe smoking for a year. Well. Two moves later, I gave my pipes away to more needy folk and my tobacco has been given away too. So earlier I logged on to order myself another...

    Rattlesnake skin

I recently killed a medium-sized rattlesnake at work. I'm in the process of tanning the skin so I can make something. I'm thinking something pipe related. Any ideas?

    Cool Autumn Smoke

Well, it dropped a couple degrees here in South Texas. Cool enough I had to break out my beanie! I feel like Robert Duvall in Second Hand Lions. (Only a few years younger.)

Well, guys. It is with much excitement that I share with y'all. I'm gonna be a dad! ETA: March. Any wise advice before I smoke my cellar clean in an attempted stress relief? :)

    I'm Back

Hey everyone! It's been a while. The weather here in South Texas has not been the most condusive to pipe smoking. But I'm back at it now that it's cooling off a bit. Oh how I missed it! Y'all have a great one!

    Unidentified Pipe

I need help identifying this pipe. It was given to my by my dad, who had it gifted to him. He does not smoke, and has never smoked this pipe. There are zero markings, stamps, etches, ect. on the pipe or stem. It was gifted to my dad in the early 90s. The history before that is unknown. Any idea...

    Side Affects

How many on here have experienced minor (or major) side affects from prolonged pipe smoking? I know all of the warnings, and health labels and laws; but I'm interested in what actual experiences have been. Everything is stated as a "greater risk", and that really doesn't mean anything to me. I...

    Waiting Patiently

I have two packages, a pipe and a box from Smokingpipes, which should have arrived to my complex this morning. Unfortunately, the office was unoccupied, and therefor the packages were not delivered. The carrier is not back to the local post office yet, and most likely won't be before they...

    Estate Buy

I am looking at possibly purchasing an estate from Smokingpipes sometime within the next month. As I've said before, I have a very tight budget. So I am pooling two months, into a $60 purchase. Would I be safe with most anything on SP? All I have smoked is cobs and $15-$30 briars. With that...

    C&D Recall

I'm wondering if anyone has heard an update on the C&D recall of the Carolina Flake Small Batch. I sent mine in, and they confirmed they had received it and were processing it all. I'm sure it takes quite a bit of time for that all to get processed given the number of tins that were inevitably...

    Warning Labels

*I apologize if this topic is not appropriate for this forum. The new regulations for the need of warning labels on tobacco being sold has got me wondering: Why is there a rise in warning labels across the board? I understand it probably has something to do with liability, and CYA on the...

When Was A Blend Released? (LTF, LBF, ect)

Specifically, I am trying to find out when PS LTF and LBF were released. But I am also interested in how to find out when any blend was initially released. I would like to know if my favorite blends yet are in danger, and what are the chances of them surviving once the smoke has settled.

    Homemade Accessories (Not tampers)

What are some homemade accessories you guys have come up with, other than the obligatory tamper? Ie: stands, racks, cases, pouches, roll-ups, ect.

    Packing flakes

Ok, before I start, I know there are probably thousands of post along this line, but the custom search engine didn't turn up the answer to my question. So, I have been just rubbing my flakes out and packing as I would loose cut tobacco. Every time I attemp the fold and stuff method, it packs way...

    Modest Cellar

Just a pic of my modest cellar after almost two month of smoking. Even though I am only a couple months in, I know for a fact that I love it!

    Suits

I have been toying with the idea of getting my first suit for a long time now. My issue is money, rather the lack thereof. What are some quality suits for an affordable price? I know there's going to have to be some give and take on the quality the lower the price goes. I just want to get an...

    Tobacco Pricing

I have begun to notice that generally speaking in regards to bulk tobacco, aromatics tend to be the cheapest. On Smokingpipes at least, I have seen the average price for an aromatic is $2-$3. Whereas the average price for a Virginia, VaPer, or English blend is $4-$5. Is this indicative of the...

    Pipes smoking wet

Do some pipes tend to cause more condensation than others? I have a Medico Chemin de Fer that seems to end up with a wet mess at the bottom no matter what I do. It also seems to smoke quite a bit hotter than my other pipes. Am I doing something to cause this?

    Hot Texas Summer

How many of you live in a part of the world that is graced with much direct sunlight, and thus very hot days? Where I live in Texas these days it over 90F before morning tea, and I can't smoke indoors. Anybody in the same boat as me?
