    Cutting Plugs

I'm a fan of cutting with a cigar cutter. Clipping corners into chunks. It usually ends up like a cube cut. Just seems to be my preference.

    I'm Back!

Gotta say, it's difficult to fit this back into my routine. I miss the good people here. And of course, women and idiots keeping me from valuable pipe smoking/forum time. How dare they? Struggling to make the time!

    Strangest "room note" comments

Was trying mabaren vanilla flake....was commented on as smelling of a "squirrel turd"

    I'm Back!

Turns out a lot of things can impact my worlds. Hated that I faded out of this one. Trying to fit 5 hours in a day for pipe forums is tough lol

    My Wife's Birthday Celebration

I got to thinking...her age doesn't show. Appalachian women, like some of my family are all that way as well. Definitely didn't expect 77.

Smoking Pipes and Picking Locks (What's your hobby?)

If you ever need one opened I am a state away :) If you buy a lot that are old and have what's called warded locks (like a skeleton key is used in) you may be interested in picking up a set of warded picks. Work similar to a skeleton key, and very easy to use.

Found A Pipe...Can Anyone Help With ID

They are about as painful as identification of an old meer aren't they?

Smoking Pipes and Picking Locks (What's your hobby?)

Not that I know of. It's been claimed (but likely false) I have tried to forcibly break into mine....yea...not happening. I tried. While you could cut it...would be extremely hard, and a criminal would have a huge signature and likely get spotted. With these it's better to hit the chain/door. 15...

    My first refinish attempt

That's a nice improvement! Well done.

Found A Pipe...Can Anyone Help With ID

Looks dutch in origin...which don't quote me on that; just a thought. It can be extremely difficult to get a back story on a pipe with no markings. I hope someone chimes in with more info on it. More pictures always help!

    My Wife's Birthday Celebration

Long time no talk Orley. Glad to see you and your wife are still doing well. Wish her a happy birthday for me!

    Exterior stem cleaning/maintainance

It is a Hialeah marked Algerian Briar, and France on the stem. GREAT smoking pipe. I can't remember for sure but I think it was under $20 at an antique store, unsmoked. It's definitely got style.

Smoking Pipes and Picking Locks (What's your hobby?)

I am SO glad I started this thread. It is one of the most interesting, and revealing about members I have had the pleasure to read so far! Thanks guys, nice to see the responses! Tyler: seriously, you pick locks? Yeah, I am pretty quick. I have only run across two I couldn't do. One considered...

Smoking Pipes and Picking Locks (What's your hobby?)

I have recently begun another hobby, we'll see where it goes. While it has impacted the amount of money spent on pipes/tobacco it pairs with it nicely. I enjoy sitting back with a pipe, working with a lock and doing something tedious. Was just curious if there were any other members here...

    Exterior stem cleaning/maintainance

I start with a magic eraser, then work my way to toothpaste and an old cotton t-shirt. It can have these results. That's the basic at home technique if you don't have wax/want to use weird stuff. It takes a bit of work, but it gets the job done as you can see here, as well as in several of my...

    Calabash Gift, Need Help

It is wood, unless a gourd has very large grain lines I didn't know about. I have dealt some with meer, and have done well. The problem I run into is running a clean through the stem ( have discovered how it comes loose from the pipe) just can't fit anything in. My biggest concern cleaning the...

    Bucko

Thanks for the info everyone. I would like to keep the stem with it, I did keep a little of...well whatever made the spots around the rim still visible. Don't know what kind of abuse this thing took, but it wasn't in too bad of shape. Also, all of my pipes have stories, the sentiment gives you...

    I'm Back!

Came back again...Preferred Member status. Now I feel capped out. Don't I get a decoder ring, or some sort of prize? :) maybe a gift basket with scented candles and bath beads? What about a personalized letter from Kevin himself?

    Christmas Pipes

My Savinelli Christmas Pipe, wonderful smoker. Saint Nicholas...I like it. One of my most complimented pipes. Would love to get this years again to add to it and start a tradition.
