    Dip and Pipe

I dip with some frequency and a few times I’ve just put a dip in not too long before I light up a pipe. I’m kinda cheep, so I just keep it in and smoke my pipe. Pure laziness is sometimes the cause too. Interesting flavors sometimes come out in the pipe when I do this. Anyone else?

    Back at It!

I’ve been away from the forums for a little over a year and it is great to be back. I’ve enjoyed reading a few post and reacquainting myself with the great community here. Lots of change has gone on in my life this last year, I moved back to the great nation of Texas from New York, started a new...

    Warhorse Ready Cut

Had a bit of Christmas money and blew it all on tobacco, got about 3lbs total! To tins of Warhorse ready cut included. My first impression of this blend has been great. I get somewhere between Irish Flake and a mild Lakland from the topping, but find it rather enjoyable. Does anyone else draw...

    A Birthday Gift

This year I introduced a good friend to pipe smoking, and he took off like a rocket with it. Today is my birthday and he gifted me with a Kiribi Lighter. Being the tight wad that I am I would never buy this for myself, but I have to say I’m in love with this lighter!

    Traveling to the Dominican Republic

I’m super excited to travel to the DR for my 15th wedding anniversary. Looking forward to relaxing and getting a good tan in the middle of December, because it’s not going to happen in Upstate NY. I have a few questions for those of you who travel often, and if you’ve been to the DR recently...

    My "Heavy" Rotation

I realized last night that I tend to group my tobacco blends into three categories. Heavy, Med, and Light nicotine. My heavy rotation is my most reached of the three, but the others have their place and time. My heavy rotation consists of... Bayou Morning Irish Flake Old Joe Krantz Picayune...

    Antique Fair Score

This past week the family and I took vacation at a great little lake house, and near by there was an antique fair going on. Since my wife and I Love digging through old stuff and finding treasures it was intentional on our part to stay at a lake close by. I saw lots of old German style pipes and...

Ghost Ship - A Home Concoction

From time to time I get tired of a blend. Maybe it is because I got carried away and ordered half a pound before sampling, or I go on a binge and wear it out. So that leaves me with some of this and some of that, and I from time to time consolidate jars and let them sit for a few months to marry...

    Finished Project (Gun)

I enjoy the firearms as well as pipes, and I just finished a project of mine. Below is a Gen 4 Glock 19 MOS with a Vortex Viper Mini Red Dot and set of DP suppressor hight sights (in case of MRD failure). I saw it's complete but I'm already contemplating a trigger replacement. I know there are...

Breakfast Pudding - A Home Blend

First the background: Once in a blue moon my mother would make bread pudding for breakfast. It was loaded with pecans and raisins and usually topped with a simple glaze. She would serve it with homemade pan sausage that was a little on the spicy side. This was by far one of my favorite meals...

    Pipe or Tobacco Hound?

I love my pipes for sure, but when I go window shopping online it is usually the tobacco that o spend the most time looking at. I have a modest rotation of pipes and could be ok with not buying to many more, but tobacco blends... I wish I could try them all! So which are you? Some may say why...

    First Impressions: C&D Exclusive

To start, I enjoy C&D Bayou Morning and have smoked a good deal of that blend. So when so when looking to spend an unexpected $20 P&C gift card I was looking for something new to me and was looking for a bull blend to get some bang out of my free bucks. This blends discription stuck out to me as...

    Some Laughs at My Expense

I'm a hunter and have enjoyed doing so for a long time. Long enough that I know that a properly packed bag is worth its weight. So sitting in the stand on a picturesque fall morning, the rut is on and my chances for harvesting a deer were looking pretty good. Being that I have tags for both doe...

    Snus

Was at the store to grab a soda tonight and saw some Snus behind the counter and on a whim bought a can. I bought Camel Mellow and it taste pretty good. I've never been able to really get into dip and I'm often in situations where I wouldn't be able to spit. This has a little less nicotine than...

    Shop Blends

I'm planning a visit next week to Boswell's and while looking at their site I started to wonder about house blends at shops. I know some shooed simply rename blends from other blending houses like lane. After reading through the descriptions some of that particular shops blends come off as being...

    Sixpence: A Review

I've smoked my way through most of a tin now, and this is some really good stuff. The tin note is amazing and I almost hesitate to say it but it almost has a grape smell to it. I say almost because it's like a really ripe grape and not in an off-putting way. The cut is a chuncky broken Flake...

    Over/Under Rated Blends.

I know this is highly subjective but what blends do you personally consider over rated and which do you consider under rated, and why? Here are mine: Over: Penzance - Grear blend and certainly a solid English but I have found that I personally prefer Star of the East to Penzance and it's not...
