Well here is a new Ferndown headed my way. I am not big on saddle stems so after I receive it I am sending it back of to my good Friend Les Wood who has agreed to put a new tapered cumberland stem on it for me. This excites me as I am really needing it for my Ferndown collection.

Weaknesses for British pipes. new pipes.

Well Barry Jones retired and I figured if I did not get an Upshall now I never would. First is a P grade group 6 bent billiard and second is a group 5 Tillshead bent bulldog. I am concerned about the size of the bent bulldog, and if not large enough I will sell it at cost. Next I guess I will...

    No more Ferndowns.

I have been sitting on this news for some time now, but Les announced it on facebook publicly today. He and dolly are retiring and without him having found someone worthy he could train to pass the line to, it will end. Les and Dolly have been making pipes for 53 years starting at Dunhill till...

Should I keep the same pattern for pipe dedication?

Well I now have a decent amount of pipes. I have 4 unamoked and trying to decide what to dedicate them to. Thus far my bent bulldogs have been dedicated to English or lat blends and my one bent billiard to VA and VA per. Unamoked I have 3 bent billiards and 1 bent bulldog. So the question is ...

    Any experience with Castleford?

I love the Dunhill Amber Root and unfortunatly can't find the shape I am looking for plus quite pricey if I do find one. My favorite carver and friend Les Wood is looking at retiring soon and doesn't want to do a new stain even if I buy the powder as he would never use it, so that leaves me...

    Any blackberry blends?

Back in the day(2000) I would enjoy a blackberry blend. I have been unable to find another. There is a blackberry brandy and a lot of raspberry blends, but I can't seem to find a blackberry. Any help would be much appreciated. I would love to revisit the memories of my early pipe smoking.

I have a tin of each in my cellar and contemplating on opening them. It has been 20 years since I had them and quite foggy in taste. Can't remember if they are cased heavily or at all. I usually dedicate my pipes to Lat blends while others I dedicate to Va and va/per blends. I don't often smoke...

    Wonder how it would taste.

So the past few days I have been contemplating how a few blends would taste. Once and a while I enjoy an aromatic blend such as a quality blend. I wonder how a Va/per blend with no Cavendish but a quality cherry topping would be like. I also wonder how an English would fare with the same treatment.

Please Give Advice for an Aromatic Pipe.
