    High Quality Pipes and Fills

I would tend to agree with you - if I'm paying $200+ for a pipe, I would expect minimal to no fills. That said, I know from experience that you certainly CAN pay that much and get a fill. For me personally....fills aren't necessarily a deal breaker, and don't necessarily bother me that much...

    St Bruno Flake Question

Mr Snuff is pretty much the only place I know of.

Why Does Nightcap Hurt Me so Bad?

I would recommend London Mixture. You seem to like Dunhill, and you seem to be after the classic English / Latakia mixture profile. Back when I was still smoking Latakia mixtures, London was my personal favorite of the Dunhill line. Outside of Dunhill - Squadron Leader and Skiff would he...

What Do Pipe Smokers Do For A Living?

I'm a Head Hunter / Executive Recruiter with a small boutique executive search firm. I specialize in Accounting & Finance related search work. No smoking at work unfortunately as I'm meeting with clients regularly.

Suitable Bulk Substitute for Dunhill Flake, Capstan Blue, Etc... ?

Also....Bright CR Flake by G&H is worth checking out...and its not Lakeland scented

Any other highly moderate pipe smokers out there?

Having young kids these days....my "goal" is 1 bowl / day. But...that doesn't always happen. I used to smoke 2-3 / day but its not feasible between work, keeping my wife happy and chasing the kids around the house.

Suitable Bulk Substitute for Dunhill Flake, Capstan Blue, Etc... ?

It doesn't come bulk - but Opening Night by V&D is fantastic. And it does come in the 8oz tins which are very affordable. If you like McClelland VA's ( which I do ) I believe one of the bulks is basically 2015 minus the perique. It's in the 2000's I believe....I like 2015 alot and the VA...

    Quality Of Dagner Pipes

I've never heard of this brand before... Anyone up to giving a quick run down / synopses of who they are?

    1792 Flake

I enjoy 1792 from time to time. I also enjoy Sam's Flake from SG. It also has a touch of Tonquin, but just a touch and is not nearly as heavy or strong of a blend as 1792.

What Musical Instruments Do You Play?

I have played Guitar since I was 10 years old - so almost 24 years, and still play daily. My guitar playing and my pipe smoking are my "releases" and make all the stress of life fade away.

    Peterson System Pipes

After the smoke just wipe it out with a folded over cleaner. The good thing about the System pipes is that it takes the guess work it of buying a fully bent pipe. No worries about proper drilling. They are much simpler to keep clean than many people think.

Do You Have A Small Pipe?

I have a nice little pre-republic Peterson that I smoke regularly with stout / strong flakes and plugs. It's a great little billiard from the 1940's. It's about a 1 inch deep chamber, probably .70 diameter and fits 1 flake of most blends perfectly. 30-40 minute smoke with an unrubbed flake or...

    Royal Yacht Blending History

The recent thread regarding Royal Yacht and similar blends made me want to ask this question... Can someone outline the blending history of Royal Yacht? I know that it has changed hands with all of the Dunhill blends over the years. When did Murray's stop blending RY? When did Orlik begin? Is...

    Anything Similar to Royal Yacht?

I love the current RY... Really wish that I could find a tin or two of the Murray's to sample. I get confused with all the changes in blenders, and while I have been enjoying RY for a number of years, I don't know that I've ever experienced the original. That said, what I have always known as...

    French or Italian Pipes?

So.... Of the French pipe brands / makers that you have experience with, which do you recommend for someone who hasn't experienced French made pipes?

    Which Condor Cut

They are all good. I enjoy the RR and the Plug personally. The flake is great also, but I like the plug better than the flake, and RR when I don't want to "fuss". All forms are heavenly and Condor has become a must have on hand smoke for me, great change of pace. I fight myself not to smoke it...

How Many Blends Do You Cellar?

I just realized over this past weekend that my cellar is fairly "broad" right now, but not extremely "deep" and its something that I'm looking to change / correct. Currently I have about 60 different blends in my cellar. About 20 of those are Latakia mixtures, which I actually don't find myself...
