Anybody Smoke Whole Leaf WITHOUT Straight-No Casings?

I've had a non-commercial uncased burley and it was fantastic. I don't typically smoke straight burleys. Go for it, I say.

    Looking for a Recommendation

So, I had a couple bowls of Embarcadero and Janus. I really like both and can't say which I like better. These are really great tobaccos, and I am happy for the recommendations. They are both going to be among my favorites now, and I will be buying more to stock up. I would definitely...

Wow, a bunch of them. Thanks, guys! Thanks for mentioning Peretti. I was not aware of them. Ended up ordering some Embarcadero and Janus for now.

    Looking for a Recommendation

Does anyone know of a VA/oriental blend without latakia or flavorings? I can't really think of any, nor have I found any while browsing. Any ideas?

What are You Drinking? (January 2021)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is my favorite, but a bottle is over $100 in my area, Heck, even the Laphroaig 10 is $70.

Samuel Gawith St James Flake - An Exercise in Frustration

When I smoke SG tobaccos, I open the tin to break the seal, then close it and let it sit for a couple days before I try to smoke it. When I smoke SG tobaccos, I open the tin to break the seal, then close it and let it sit for a couple days before I try to smoke it. Always had good results...

Sail Yellow The Budweiser Of Blends

I remember having to work in British Columbia for 6 months, and I couldn't take enough tobacco through customs. Well, I had to buy local, and Sail was all that was available. The yellow was my favorite, but it was still almost $30 a pouch.

Samuel Gawith Black XX Rope Review

I smoked a tin of this stuff years ago. I remember it being enjoyable, but not my thing. I think I would like to revisit this tobacco at some point. It may pair well with a glass of Laphroaig. Also, good call on the cigar cutter.

    Peterson Irish Oak (Cask)

I used to love this stuff when it was Irish Oak, and I can't wait to try it again. I always smoked it in an old Waldorf Dublin that I'm trying to get fixed up. Would be nice to burn some Irish Cask through when it is ready.

    Royal Yacht, A Short-Short Review

Now there is a tobacco that I just cannot smoke.

    Who Else Loves Old Gowrie?

I also love Old Gowrie. That and Marlin Flake are my favorite Rattray's, but they are all tasty, high quality blends. Can't wait to get some soon.

    Good Ol’ Cob

Nice. I need to pick up a cob pipe. I had one years ago, but it was a bit worn.

What's The Rap On The Bulldog Shape?

I have a Wessex 601 that I absolutely love to smoke. Bulldog/Rhodesian is a great shape. I'm sure I'll buy another one, but I think my next pipe purchase is going to be a smooth finish prince.

    Pipes of Sherlock Holmes

Anyone familiar with the Jeremy Brett series? I couldn't tell you what pipes he was using, but a great series nonetheless. My favorite, actually.

I completely forgot about Black Shag! Not bad at all.

Who Got You Into Pipe Smoking And When?

I simply found my grandfathers pipes in his toolbox, and I wanted to try it out. It is a Dr. Grabow Hillcrest from the 80's and a Waldorf Dublin style pipe. I went to the tobacco shop and bought whatever random tins and pouches they had. I couldn't taste anything for weeks! One of my first tins...

Have You Ever Had One Of Those Pipe Smoking Days Where...

This happened when I smoked throughout the day. I only smoke a couple pipes per week now, and it doesn't happen at all. I'm sure some Ardbeg would help a bit. Even if it doesn't, you still win.
