    I have never seen the point, you draw through a stem, you draw through a filter, why do filters and ruin the flavour of the tobacco ? no point, if they made filters law I would give up.

    Rarely happens to me after more than 50yrs of pipe smoking but when it does it's usually easily corrected with a pipe tool.

    I was born in 1955, my brother pinched 2 pipes from Woolworths in 65 and we shoved dogends in them, then we collected cigar dogends from the outsides of clubs, didn't try pipe tobacco until 68ish, then never stopped.

    If you get a uncoated mouthpiece, a touch of Ladies (or Mens) nail varnish does the trick.
