I may be in the minority, but I'm disappointed with them after seeing them in person. The stem is much much darker than I anticipated. I mostly smoke indoors under artificial light. In that environment it looks black. The sides have a pearlescent quality that I wish the entire stem had. In...- fightnhampster

Who Has Sanded Out a Bowl on a Smoked Pipe?
Sanded the bowl of my Rossi 315. I've smoked 3 bowls of different tobacco in it and its like a new pipe! It has made a world of difference. It no longer has an off, chemical note. Well worth the time and effort. I plan on doing the same with my Neerup that has been giving me fits.- fightnhampster

Interesting thread. Any tips other than what have been listed? Mistakes to avoid? I have a couple of newish pipes that I have just not been able to get a good flavor out of and I am considering sanding down to the briar and starting over. Yup! I hope it looks as good as the picture. I have been looking for a pipe with a green stem and this one hits the spot. I also ordered a 320 about 30 minutes after I posted here. I will pick between the two and send the other back.- fightnhampster
