    Small game season starts next month here in NJ so some quail & pheasant (stocked by the state) and the occasional trap or skeet round. And in between blowing leaves and blowing leves and blowing leaves.

    P Lip vs Fishtail. An observation

    I find that the same tobacco does taste a bit different if p-lip or fishtail but gurgling is not an issue unless I smoke to hard and fast. I would add that I do draw more with the fishtail than the p-lip.

    Granger tobacco still available?

    For what it's worth, my father only smoked Granger unless someone gave him some other brand as a gift. He passed away in 1989 after about 55 years as a pipe smoker. In his later years he mentioned more than once that the quality of Granger was going down. That was 35 years ago or so.

    How Do You Pick Your Next Smoke?

    After trying a variety of tobaccos in system, non system, fishtail or p-lip pipes I have pretty much come down to either Lane’s BCA or RLP-6 in my 80’s spigot and smoke in the afternoon and evenings outdoors. When the miserable weather gets here that will be reduced a bit.
