I like that. I started out very serious about straight pipes with saddle stems, but am really starting to enjoy a half bent. Wish someone made a "quarter bent." I'm sure it's all out there..on the spectrum... Also, now I'm wondering if this thread could have legs! What's your "Sleeper Favorite"?

I think I'm turning a corner in my race to codger-dom pipe smoking where I am starting to really notice the difference in a well made pipe. I am building a decent little collection -nothing over a hundred dollars- but I instinctively grab certain pipes for specific circumstances and any time I...

    Manhunt in Maine

I'd love to go on a philosophical tear about this, I have a ton of well thought out (I think) opinions on this very matter. I'm sure every one of us does. Nuance is a pain in the ass. But maybe, let's just go back to pipes. We aren't solving this right here. We just ain't.

    Manhunt in Maine

Very sad that this happened here. And at risk of sounding callous; I always knew that we weren't exactly special, but I had hoped that the pervasive, party-agnostic nature of the firearms culture here would be somewhat of a buffer against the lunacy of the modern world. I thought just maybe we...

    Cadence

This is what I try to do How the hell And, I don't know how to add multiple people in a response but @Frog Snacks earlier said "I sip as often as I want until the pipe starts getting hot, then I breath smoke until it cools down then I sip again etc etc..." That's basically what I try to do...

***What Are You Smoking, September, 2023?***

Good evening to any fellow bachelors. The pipe is a Rattray's Brownie 113. The tobacco, a fine, coffee and fresh lumber scented pouch of Half and Half. The soup is canned, with notes of beef.

15% Off New Pipes at Smoking Pipes

So far, really well, far as I can tell. It's smooth and seems to have good bowl geometry, as in, it holds a fire well. It's a 9mm filter which is my preferred way to smoke. I'd give it an 8/10. Subject to change in the coming years of actual pipe smoking experience.

    Pouch Tobaccos

Really digging Half and Half lately. Mostly jumping between that and Captain Black Original right now. I have a pouch of Platinum but it smells a little too much like TOP for me to go for it very often.

    Movies that Make You Cry

I saw Dumb and Dumber in the theater, never laughed so hard in my life to that point. And yes, thank you, I do have a finely tuned sense of artistic vision in film.

    Movies that Make You Cry

Not a movie but TNG episode,The Inner Light. Where Picard lives an entire life in an alien simulation. He has a family, grows old and wakes up knowing how to play an indigenous flute. Destroys me every time.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2023?***

Last Sunday I was in town on some serious business so before heading into my local Cigaret Shopper I told myself "in 'n out, and do not buy another Grabow...unless it's like, a really nice one or something."
