    One Tin at a Time

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I too like to only have one tin (on rare occasions two) open at a time. It seems to help me know what to expect and try the same blend in different pipes. But once that tin is finished, I may stray to a totally different type of blend. But then I only...

    Pipe Pranksters (Cartoon)

I know I've had some blends that tasted like they came out of a diaper and I dumped them in a flower pot. :puffy:

I'm Not Smoking A Work of Art

+1 drezz... I like the old, vintage, weathered, tried-and-true kind of life. I doubt that I would justify spending $500 or more on a pipe, but if I did I would surely smoke it. Life's too short not to. :puffy:

Good or Bad Smoke, I Don't Get It!

When I'm under stress, I seem to subconsciously puff harder and faster. What I really need to do is consciously slow down, take smaller and fewer puffs per minute. I recently caught myself getting into the habit of puffing so fast I thought the pipe was going to melt in my hands. Now that I...

    Lighting-Up Outside

@stanlaurel...I would suggest getting the pipe insert for the Zippo. It helps keep the rim from getting charred as well I think. I've tried several different styles of lighters and matches. But I always return to the Zippo. So I don't try to use anything else now. :puffy:

    House fire

While tragic news, it is amazing your family survived. Thoughts and prayers will be with you. Like several of the others have asked, PM me with your address and I'll see what I can gather for you to start your cellar again. -John :puffy:

    Prayers For My Daughter

Mike, thank you for allowing us to help in your situation. Continued thoughts and prayers are headed Kiara's way, along with the rest of your family. Please stay rested yourself. She will be depending on you later and you need to be at peak capacity. God Bless you all. -John :puffy:

    Pipe Smoking Do's And Don'ts

Do be sure to savor every moment of life you can while a pipe dangles from your mouth. Don't listen to anyone regarding what pipe and/or tobacco you enjoy. If you enjoy it, smoke it. Life is too short not to. :puffy:

How much tobacco do you smoke in a month

I have to smoke outdoors for several reasons, so here in Missouri it does depend a lot on the weather. Dead of winter: 6 oz. per month Rest of the year: 12-16 oz. per month :puffy:

    Bent Stems More Comfortable?

I do a lot of outside work, fishing, and hunting. So I mostly am a clencher. I too prefer bents as they seem to take a little weight off my teeth/jaw. They also tend to not get in my way when working. :puffy:

    Prayers For My Daughter

Mike, Never be apologetic for sharing your burdens and thoughts to your friends, even though we haven't physically met. We are here for you, be good times or bad. I've been through a similar situation with my 3 year-old son. It is such a helpless feeling, knowing there is nothing I can...

    Tobacco storage?

I'd suggest keeping the tobacco that comes in tins in their original tins. That being said, if you have bulk or opened tins you want cellar, I'd suggest Mason jars. They've never failed me yet. :puffy:

    The Five Pound Price Break

I smoke a lot of Pirate Kake and buy it in the 1# bricks. Five of those don't take up much room at all. I'd buy a 5# brick if i could though! :puffy:

    Favorite Chinese Food?

drwatson...was your restaurant possibly by a nuclear plant? :) I have to agree on the General Tso Chicken, although it is an Americanized dish. I love it! My daughter had a college roommate who was from China. When she asked her for several recipes, her roommate had no idea of what she was...
