    Choicest Plugs

GH Dark Plug is probably my favourite. I like slicing up plugs to prep them for smoking, I find it almost as enjoyable as smoking them. I made some plugs with Whole Leaf Tobacco's dark fired and dark air cured with various combinations of home grown burley and bulk condimentals that turned out...

Does Pipe Smoking Reduce Stress and/or Blood Pressure?

That is entirely conjecture on your part. Nicotine acts as a traditional stimulant working on the dopamine and adrenergic systems. Caffeine is actually the unusual stimulant in that it acts on the adenosine sleepiness triggering system.

Does Pipe Smoking Reduce Stress and/or Blood Pressure?

Nicotine is a stimulant, it causes epinephrine release and raises blood pressure. People that are more sensitive to it can have dramatic blood pressure spikes. Long term addicts/users can sometimes experience paradoxical depressant/relaxant effects mentally but physically their adrenal system...

Is It Hotter Where You Live Now?

This might make you laugh, or cry. I have been doing some reading up lately on varicose veins because I have a hereditary condition and a damaged vein in my left knee that I am considering surgery on. I wanted to research the medical facts to figure out the best treatment option without letting...

Is It Hotter Where You Live Now?

Just for discussions sake, who chooses who gets published? A lot of stuff is published that is based on flawed premises. There was seemingly scientific consensus on Alzheimers until recently, for a completely unrelated to the weather example...

Is It Hotter Where You Live Now?

That doesn't actually exist. Anyone that claims that there is scientific consensus on ANYTHING is mistaken.

Is It Hotter Where You Live Now?

The 1800-1860 period was colder than normal, referred to as a little ice age even. The period from 1880-1930 saw rapidly increasing temperatures, with most heat records being set in the early 1900s leading into the great depression/dustbowl period. These former records have only been broken in...

Is It Hotter Where You Live Now?

Bullshit. The weather records that you are referring to have only been kept since 1940, there have been many warmer periods in the past, notably in the 1880s.

Is It Hotter Where You Live Now?

The last couple years were warm and dry, this summer has been cold and wet. It's so wet that I have had 5 kinds of mushrooms grow in my normally dry yard, and it is getting close to frosting overnight already, it was only 5°C the last couple nights. Despite the cold and wet weather, we have...
