Had a bit of a Hendrix night last night. Band Of Gypsys Live At The Fillmore double set, just glorious. Jay.

What Are You Listening To? - November, 2024

Real foot tapping stuff here....Jack McDuff & Bill Jennings, another random discovery I stumbled upon. Jay.

What Are You Listening To? - November, 2024

Last night I started off gently with Blondie and their Best Of album then went all out with UB40 and their debut album Signing Off. When I can feel the bass thump in in my backside & feet then I know I've set the volume just right puffy Jay.

    Bulleit Bourbon/Rye Gripe.

Thinking about it I've had several Buffalo Trace corks snap on me so I've had to revert to careful corkscrewing to remove the remainder. I do actually have a few loose corks in a drawer for such emergencies. Jay.

What Are You Listening To? - November, 2024

A bit more Miles Davis was my pleasure last night....two very different albums for sure. Jay.

    Bulleit Bourbon/Rye Gripe.

Ever since I 'discovered' bourbon & rye via this Forum I have bought several hundred bottles over the last 8 or 9 years of various brands and enjoyed each and every one of them. Last night I discovered amongst my stash a long forgotten about bottle of Bulleit Bourbon (thought I'd drunk it an...

    Tyson v. Paul

I personally think women boxing is just disgusting. I really can't explain why, I love watching guys boxing but not the ladies.....Just doesn't seem right to me. Jay.

What Are You Listening To? - November, 2024

Had a quiet (?) night in with SRV and the boys last night....terrific stuff. Of my compilation album collection this has to be right up there puffy Jay.

What are You Watching? [2024] Please Rate 1-5

Last night I watched 1984 on DVD, the first time I've seen this version since it was released. Starring John Hurt & Richard Burton (just months afore his death) I wasn't overly impressed. The book was far more revealing though Suzanna Hamilton as John Hurt's love interest Julia was pretty...

What Are You Listening To? - November, 2024

Last night I rocked it with Jeff Beck and his Guitar Shop album which if memory serves, came recommended by mod Al. Great album but woefully short. Jay.

    This is Just Bananas.

Some Swedish lady politician claims to suffer from 'bananaphobia' so certain areas of the Government building have to be 'banana-proofed' so as she can get along with official business. I wonder if it's catching as amazingly another female Swedish politician also claims to suffer from the same...

I've got family in Carmel.....small world. Jay.

    RIP Timothy West Aged 90.

Yes, Gentleman Jack was a great adaptation again with great actors and an interesting (& true) story though much embellished for TV. I caught some of the canal barge episodes, so sad to see his wife deteriorate as quickly as she did. Jay.

What Are You Listening To? - November, 2024

Last night I had the Eagles Live From The Forum perform in my sitting room, 2 hours and 23 minutes of audio & visual joy......great gig in a huge auditorium. Jay.

    RIP Timothy West Aged 90.

Watch the series 'Brass' and I guarantee you will laugh your socks off. Very cleverly written and very well acted. "I'm happy to pay a full day's wages for a full week's work". Jay.

    RIP Timothy West Aged 90.

This news came as a bit of a shocker. The star of both stage and screen, he came to my notice as the lead in the hugely hilarious comedy series Brass where he played the social climbing patriarch Bradley Hardacer, father of numerous very odd children. He was of course married to Prunella...

What Are You Listening To? - November, 2024

Last night I had a Joe Bonamassa evening again, first up was his Sloe Gin followed by The Ballad Of John Henry......both exquisitely played by the maestro. Just can't get enough of his unique sound. Jay.
