    What are You Reading Now?

I can’t recommend this book enough, fellas. It is absolutely hilarious. Take everything you know about samurai virtues like loyalty, honor, fealty to one’s lord, self-discipline, courage, and anything else encompassing Bushido culture, and throw that shit out the window. The big homie Katsu is...

    A $25 Bertram

Bertram pipes have wonderful classical shaping and a pretty solid reputation. They often fetch a pretty penny online. I hope it’s a solid smoker for you.

Wonderful choice on the new meer.

Pegasus in my new meer carved by Mustafa Savun.

This pipe is absolutely beautiful. I remember when you first got it!

The Savinelli 320ks.......Finally Pulled the Trigger

I don’t have one but as someone who doesn’t clench too often, they look very appealing. They look like they have nice chamber dimensions and a comfortable feel in the hand. I’d say try one out.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2025?***

Pegasus in a Tekin and more Pegasus a new straight apple carved by Mustafa Savun. The Savun is a beautifully carved straight apple with a brown/grey brindle stem.

Crazily enough, the bowl on that IMP actually looks kind of like a lemon. I hope you enjoyed the dinner!

    Done Been Ghosted

Idk man. I have a Tekin meerschaum that I’ve smoked at least 500 bowls of Pegasus through and it just kinda tastes like a little bit like Pegasus forever now. Haha.

    Done Been Ghosted

I used to just throw them away before joining this forum and learning some of the tricks. I used to just smoke 1 or 2 pipes until I tossed them. Now I mostly smoke meerschaum and have enough briars for them not to sour.

    Done Been Ghosted

    1. Give it a deep cleaning with alcohol dipped pipe cleaners in the shank and stem (unless it’s acrylic then I would do soap and water). 2. Flush the pipe with warm water for a couple of minutes and let it rest and dry for a day. 3. Take wet coffee grounds and let them set in the bowl overnight.

Fit and finish is a bit clunky but it’s an incredible smoker. I have an altinay as well and I generally prefer to smoke my AGovem over the Altinay.

    Cursed Pipe Won't Smoke

A more open draw does not always equal a better smoke in my experience.

    Cursed Pipe Won't Smoke

For me, it would end up in the trash (or given away with the disclosure that I didn’t like it). There are way too many great pipes I’ve smoked that required absolutely no break-in or alterations.

    Another Update

That’s great to hear, Jesse. I hope you’re enjoying this spring we’re having in Southern Oregon.

Lovely hunk of briar. The green stem is wonderful as well.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2025?***

Thanks, Jim. Around 2021, a lot of the ranches around me that historically have raised cattle decided to till the soil up and try their hand at farming. When that grass came down, all of those mice and voles started fanning out to find new homes. We quickly had ourselves a rodent issue in our...

***What Are You Smoking, April 2025?***

A couple bowls of Kendal Mixed in an AGovem billiard while I hang out with Cowboy and the fam.

    Ogden's St Julien

That makes sense. It always surprises me how popular flakes are, considering the amount of futzing around required to smoke them. Super fine cuts are so awesome to smoke. I’m enjoying some G&H Kendal Mixed this very moment. Stuff and puff away!

    Ogden's St Julien

Seeing the cut of this tobacco reminds me of an old Ogden’s St. Bruno advert that I saw on YouTube. I’m sure some of you saw it when it was actually on TV. A guy goes fishing at what looks like a lake in Alaska and forgets his tobacco. Devastation. A dog comes up in a boat to deliver his...
