***What Are You Smoking, April 2025?***

This is a super cool pic. The jacket, hat, wall, grill, and parts of the sky are all around the same color. The pipe just instantly ups the cook factor as well. :col:

    Bulk vs Tin

I’m a big fan of Mylar. It takes up less space and still has the resealable zipper at the top. You can get the smaller bags and put 2-4 oz in them and smoke them as you would pouches tobacco. As long as you heat seal the top you should be good on long-term storage.

    A $25 Bertram

I can only imagine how many pipes you must have at this point @Briar Lee It’s gotta be many hundreds.

    Bulk vs Tin

Bro I still haven’t bagged up my 1lb bags of Match Victorian that I got a few months back. LOL. Shameful, I know.

Why Do New Pipes Smoke Hot?

    Not enough sap!

    G.A.D.

Enjoy the new toy, Embers. I used to have one of those Taurus Glock clones (I think that’s what it was?) at my house when my father-in-law lived with me. I don’t know too much about gun models and such but I have a rifle and a small (like super small) Smith & Wesson .380. I should get out...

Why Do New Pipes Smoke Hot?

I have certainly had pipes that smoked hot and wet from the start and never improved. Some were duds and some just didn’t mesh well with my smoking style or blend/cut preference at the time. I can’t say I’ve had a pipe smoke hot at the outset that improved much with time. A pipe generally just...

***What Are You Smoking, April 2025?***

Without looking at the avatar I legitimately thought that this was your post, Jim. 😆 The only red flag was that usually when you post a pipe we‘ve never seen or haven’t seen in a long time, you’ll give some backstory regarding the pipe.

An Outstanding Auction Of Vintage Barling Pipes From The Laxey Pipe Factory Museum

Here's a clue, guys. This Class 29 stamp is on the top of a 1914 Barling catalog. Alright, that's all I got. Haha. Congrats on winning such a beautiful piece, Jesse. I admire those on here that are so dedicated to collecting and preserving such beautiful works of art.

I Paid Too Much for a Pipe... On Purpose!

According to Mr. Bug Tussle, Algerian briar is a gift from God himself. It’s more absorbent than meerschaum, more sweet smoking than a briar, and dryer smoking than a calabash. Plus, it’ll color just like a Turkish meerschaum from all the sap. puffy In all seriousness, you got yourself a...

What's Your Favorite Current Factory Model Straight Billiard?

Dude. Yes. I freakin’ love my Tre series Savinellis. Here’s my Tre rusticated 104. Easily my best smoking briar pipes are from the Tre series. I have 4 of them and they’re all fantastic.
  16. LeafErikson

    What's Your Opinion?

I am a much bigger fan of the pot shape. Either way, you can’t go wrong with a Savinelli.

What Was Your First "I Gotta Buy 5 Pounds of This Stuff!" Tobacco?

I regularly purchase Pegasus in 3 pound increments. That’s enough to last me about a year. I can’t say I’ve ever bought anything in 5 pound increments though.
