Give him a MM cob, as there's no real break in period. Some initial smokes on cheap pipes can be quite nasty and hence off putting.- Sgetz

it should be noted that British pipe smokers traditionally smoke tobacco damp and tightly packed. It's the way I was taught in the 60's. We used to keep a slice of Apple in our batch pouch- Sgetz
