    Wilke Tobacco Amazingness

If you have not been to the mountain top, it is time to make the pilgrimage. I have never experienced (IMO) finer pipe tobacco. Are you experienced?

    New FDA Nicotine Restrictions

If the “powers that be” go full on crazy, I’d love to support Native American tribes that want to import, or sell pipe tobacco. It may be the way around oppressive regimes.

    Aged at Sea?

Those bygone days of yore. Like a bowling alley cheeseburger.

    The Best 'No-Bite' Pipe Tobacco?

Often particular to an individual, but none of Boswells blends ever bit me.

Help getting started with first pipes, tobacco, etc.

Sounds like you are a solid guy with a good plan. Someone on here told me, to slow down…and then slow down some more when starting out. Some things take practice and experience. Hope you find your new hobby relaxing and enjoyable. Btw, pipe smokers may be more “tobacco tasters” than “smokers”...

    Peterson 80s as a “clincher”

Thank you Warren. Good advice and I know exactly what you mean.

    Peterson 80s as a “clincher”

Thanks, I really like Petersons, and I like their 9mm filter pipe that I already own . Their bulldogs look great. PAD 😆

    Peterson 80s as a “clincher”

I am looking for a pipe like this: https://www.peterson.ie/pipes/premium/irish-harp/moreinfo.cfm?pd_product_Id=965 I’m not familiar with the 80S. Is it a good “walk around” pipe or is it a better couch potato. My other Peterson is a bent 317 and I like how light and clinchable it is for walks.

Planning return to piping with a change in direction.

After I learned to enjoy english blends, I realized I knew how to taste aromatics.

    Any perique growers on here?

Checking in to see if there’s any perique, or for that matter, other types of tobacco farmers on the board. I lived in a huge area for Virginia leaf, and burley which has now mostly moved to KY/TN as far as I can tell.

New Interview with Per G Jensen on Mac Baren's Demise

Your daily reminder that everything is going to be all right. The invisible hand of peoples needs and wants will still find a way if there is money to be made.

Year-end conclusions. Positive and negative. Tell us about it

2024: Got rated in the C-130, then went med down for a long period. Finished reading the Bible on an app I had downloaded years ago and never used. Outlook changed for the better.

    Grabow Omega Stem Material

You got a great Grabow there…a real classic model too. There’s ways to get that stem cleaned up and “de-yuckified”. Congrats on a fine piece.

A Look at STG Internal Documents Regarding the Mac Baren / Sutliff Buyout

I hope that someone has scraped the website all ready. Losing years of quality reviews would be a huge loss.

A Look at STG Internal Documents Regarding the Mac Baren / Sutliff Buyout

Walmart tried this crap too. Came to town with straw buyers who looked like young couples buying starter homes or lots. Next thing you know, Walmart put a lot of mom and pops out of business. Don’t forget, we are still in a golden age of pipe tobacco. Enjoy, and cellar, and support the...

A Look at STG Internal Documents Regarding the Mac Baren / Sutliff Buyout

We support you and enjoy your products. But give us an option for Lakeland heavy with the traditional dollop of sauce. 😀 Forum members, while cellaring is important, it is regular smaller purchases over time that keep producers viable. Don’t leave GH, C&D, and other non corporate (STG) blenders...

    Two Friends- English Chocolate

I took the advice of the illustrious @Chasing Embers and bought some to try. After a year in the cellar I finally got around to trying some. Opening the tin, Latakia was my first perception, followed by a subtle chocolate topping. The broken flake burns clean, and packed more of a wallop that...

    Pipe for clenching

Grabow pipes, regardless of shape are light and easy clenchers. They make great lunt and truck pipes. If you use filters, the 6mm Dr Perl jrs fit nicely.
