    Smokin-G tobacco

I believe you are correct since @BriarLee realizes that most tobacco today are premium tobaccos and just because they are inexpensive does not mean that a pipe or tobacco is not quality and a good purchase.

    Smokin-G tobacco

The other day I went into a smoke shop to pick up some pipe cleaners and on the shelves were bags of Smokin-G pipe tobacco, 8 oz. bags for $9.50. I figured it was a RYO tobacco, but figured what the hell, it was cheap enough to risk it. It was a Virginia blend and ribbon cut. While I like...

    Royal Comfort relaunch

The Milan Royal Comfort is a light aromatic that I taste a light caramel favor. There isn't any strong flavor, just a nice, every day, all day smoke. It fits into the Prince Albert, Carter Hall, SWR category. Kinda nice just to have around.

    Royal Comfort relaunch

I may pick up a tin, but Milan Tobacconist version of Royal Comfort is very good. I have over a pound of that in the cellar. You can buy it in bulk for a lot less money.

    Royal Comfort relaunch

The new version is supposed to have perique. I don't remember the original having any perique, so it may have a different taste profile.

    Grandpa's ash tray

Last week I visited my brother and while there I picked up Grandpa's ash tray. My brother doesn't smoke and it didn't mean anything to him. I wanted it because it connected me to my Grandfather who died in 1967. I remember him sitting in his chair with that ash trash and a container of matches...

    Nicotine Sensitivity as I Age

I know I have mentioned this before, but sinuses are a big part of smoking. Your sense of smell influences your taste buds. This is also ragweed season so your sinuses might be full or irritated, giving you headaches.

Tobaccos of Yesterday that are basically Gone

It is pretty good, but I believe that it is probably milder than the original. Well worth trying, but still not the same.

Tobaccos of Yesterday that are basically Gone

My wife is 10 years younger than me, and I tell her that one of the worse things about getting old is that you remember how things use to be and most of the time they were better. I just finished the last of some very old Sir Walter Raleigh original, knowing that I will never taste that again...

Tobaccos of Yesterday that are basically Gone

Milan Tobacconist in Roanoke, Va. have several versions of the old blends, such as London Dock, Kentucky Club, Royal Comfort, and many more. You might want to check on their website. I enjoy many of their blends.

    Losing My Taste For Tobacco

Allergies are one thing, but basic sinus problems are another. Do you suffer from stuffy sinuses. Part of our taste is determined by smell, if our sinuses are clogged it is harder to get full advantage of a smoke. When my sinuses are bad, all tobaccos taste just about the same.

    Show Us Your Molina Pipes

I have over a dozen Molinas and I'm happy with them. They may be inexpensive, but they have a really good draw and most are very stylish.

Buying a Whole Cellar From a Neighbor?

If you have the money, do it. There are tobaccos there that you will enjoy, or you won't have any trouble selling. Discontinued tobaccos can go for a pretty penny.

Getting Back in the Groove: Beginner Questions

Keep in mind that many of the Codgers blends (Half & Half, Prince Albert, Velvet etc.) were originally pipe and cigarette tobacco.

Is This Cake or Just Crud?

Cake is the residue that you don't want in your body, so I don't want to keep it around. I also don't want to diminish the capacity of the bowl. I don't buy a large bowled pipe to make it into a medium or small bowled pipe. Keep it clean and the smoke will be fresh.

    That Morning Smoke

After taking care of the dog and cat's breakfast, I have my dark roast coffee with a splash of Italian sweet cream and Milan's "our" Prince Albert in usually my Hardcastle billiard. I set in my sunroom with the dog at my feet and watch small town America wake up before my wife awakens.

    Is it Safe?

I read somewhere that viruses can live on items for 48 hours. It takes longer than that to get anything through the mail.

3 New Pipes Join The 999 Dingle in The Private Collection

I like them all. You will have to stick them all in your mouth at the same time and smoke them. You can't have favorites, plus you would be a sight walking down the street.

You have got to start them young...

How much grief did you get from that photo. I'm sure the wife is still yelling. Very cute.

    Granger by Lane

I recommend that you dump your SWR on a flat to dry for a couple days and then jar it up. The vinegar will mostly dissipate. I always felt the original had a touch of vinegar in it, but nothing compared to the STG version.
