    Filters, any good?

I don't use them. They make the draw more difficult, and they really don't do anything but sop up moisture.

    Thanks for including me!!

I've always used the phrase "past time" for what we do.

    Ken Dryden RIP

We are losing a lot of great hockey stars lately. He was definitely a great one.

    New Royal Comfort observations

I have just finished correspondence with Milan Tobacconist, and they said that their Royal Comfort has fell prey to the Sutliff closing. So, if you want to try Royal Comfort you will have to pay $67.00 for a 16 oz. bag or $17.99 for a tin (Of course this is before shipping/handling and taxes) of...

A father and son thing, one of the greatest lessons

A very nice story, well written. Your father had great advice. He seems a little rough around the edges, but a man I think I would like. I'm glad you had that moment together. You will remember that for the rest of your life.

What Is the Future of Pipesmoking for Younger Generations?

We know how the past was, and we have no idea what the future will bring, so enjoy how things are now and don't worry about it. Enjoy the present.

Found This Very Large Piece Of Burley

You spend good money on a good burley blend. I would never have tossed it. I would have rubbed it out and mixed it with a little Virginia and a dash of black cavendish. That would have put hair on your ankles.

    CAO's Moontrance.

I find that Moontrance and Eileen's Dream are very good blends. I don't smoke them regularly, but I like to have a tin on hand when the urge hits me.

    Cigar in a Pipe

How about smoking the cigar to the point you would throw it away and rub out the remaining portion and put it in your pipe.

    Ruminations on Food Allergies

When I was a child, I grew up on a dairy farm, out in the country among the fields and woods. I was given a scratch test to see what I might be allergic to since I was having a lot of troubles. I believe there were 12 scratches, among them household dust, grass and tree pollen, dog and cat...

    Royal Comfort relaunch

I almost died 3 1/2 years ago from Long Covid and now that I have recovered somewhat, I have been told by two Doctors that my life span has been cut from 10 to 20 years. Well, Hell, I'm 68 years old so I better enjoy every minute of life. I tell my wife enjoy all the time we have together, the...

    Royal Comfort relaunch

Between my ears I'm still 29, but since I got an auto-immune disease from Long Covid, my body tells me I'm 125.

    To My Fellow Falcon Owners

I have two with several bowls. I like that they are light weight, but otherwise I am not overwhelmed. I like bigger bowls, and I like the feel of a regular briar pipe in my hand. I smoke my falcons super slow so not to get hot or get that briar taste you mention. I don't have a meerschaum bowl...

    New Royal Comfort observations

Making my way through the tin, I forgot another positive for the blend. It packs very easily. Just scoop and press lightly. A very much Codger blend. It is an enjoyable, uncomplicated blend, but is it worth $17.99 a 2 oz. tin. That is something you will have to decide.

    In Need of Reaming Advice

If you don't know what you are doing, a reamer is a bad idea. Use a pocket knife to gently scrap the outer layer and wash out with warm water and rub the inner bowl with a paper towel.

    New Royal Comfort observations

I don't care much for tobacco reviews, because what one person likes, another hates and vice versa. Since I had enjoyed the original Royal Comfort and I smoke Milan's Royal Comfort on a regular basis, I thought I would give the Arango Cigar Co. version a try. I smoked many bowls in several pipes...

It is better to have too much than to wish you had bought more.

God, I must be old. I remember when it was first released and the commercial that was aired on TV.

Tobaccos of Yesterday that are basically Gone

I still have a little of this in a jar that I smoke at certain times, but when it is gone, it is gone forever.
