    I agree it smelled like hell sanding it out. I can't imagine it would have tasted or smelled good smoking with it still in the bowl.

    The ones I avoid now ate the servi and paykoc. I tried a few of their smaller ones. Bowed stems and they got incredibly hot.

    IMP always has great dimensional pipes too. Great draft and fit & finish.

    Totally agree with you. One other thing about meers is they dry the smoke incredibly dry compared to other pipe material. My big reverse calabashes can handle the wettest aromatics and never gurgle. The bottom of the bowl is always dry to the touch usually.

    That's awesome. You have some great old ones but if you were buying new what would you recommend? I firmly believe IMP to be the back leader but I've gotten good pipes from CPW, MKM, and Star as well.

    What was the retail on one of these? I've never heard of them before but always loved seeing Kramer with a pipe. I thought I seen him with a thin shanked Canadian once in an episide.

    I sand paper all the finish out and gave it a quick wipe with water. The first bowl was actually very decent. Only about 5/8's of a bowl of Virginia flake rubbed out but it burnt down nice. The system well and p lip seemed to have done the trick. While not as dry as a good meerschaum, it was...
