A Little More Bragging From A Proud Papa

I'm not sure if anyone remembers or if I even mentioned last year when my youngest daughter won the title of Miss Douglas County Outstanding Teen...which is the teen division of the Miss America organization. Last week her term of service was up and she had to crown this year's winner for...

    Rocky Mountain Air Purifier

Has anyone ever used a Rocky Mountain Air Purifier? I'm just curious if they are as good as they sound. :-) I was going to purchase a CT-500 smoke eater from HomeSmokeEater.com, but they are having supply issues so I opted for the SUMMIT model from Rocky Mountain Air which should give decent...

    Thank You Santa's Helper

I'd like to give a quick & heart felt thank you to my Santa's Little Helper from Canada. :D Although I didn't sign up for the "Secret Santa" I came home from a 20 day work trip to find a tin of Klondike Gold & nice card sitting on my desk waiting for me. Thank you!

I Was Caught Off Guard Today

I was caught completely off guard today and my mailbox exploded from some totally unexpected packages. I will leave names out but have thanked the gentlemen responsible privately. Little backs story...I woke up Wed. morning to find out a pipe broke between the walls in the house...so that...

    D.I.Y. Stem Repair

Question for the D.I.Y. guys/gals. For anyone who has repaired a hole in a stem, what did you use and did it end up matching when finished? I did my first hole repair after a nasty bite through when I hit a bump while driving and clenching the pipe in my teeth. It is functional but does not...

Removed Oxidation and Polished ~ Picture Heavy

I spent the afternoon today polishing pipes & stems that I had removed the oxidation from. For various reasons I did leave some flaws in both pipes & stems on occasion. I really wish I would have taken a few more "BEFORE" pictures and had better lighting. IMHO the pictures don't tell the...

    Few Estate Pipes W/Question

I picked up these little pipes & rack today when I stopped in to see my friend who owns an antique consignment shop. Left to right is a little Yelo-Bole that needs a bit of polishing, a little Peterson that needs minor stem polishing, and a Sir Allred that needs minor stem polishing. Question...

    Peterson Dracula question

Simple question for those who know the "Dracula" line of Peterson pipes. Was the 999 model ever made in the sandblast version or only smooth? T.I.A.

    Norwood Pipe Repair

I cannot let this happen about Norwood Pipe Repair without saying anything about it. I have a Meerschaum pipe which I just purchased that I wanted a gold band placed on the end of the shank. The pipe didn't seemed finished to me without it. Anyhow, I mailed it to Norwood last Friday before I...

    PAD has a Death Grip

I was looking to have Mr. Baki carve something for me, then Deniz URAL showed me this pipe. There was only one thing left to do once I realized it was nicer than what I wanted to begin with. :puffy:

Today's Mail Brought a PAD Delivery

I just got another custom cob from Riccardo Santia today. This thing hardly looks like a cob anymore, and weighs in at a whopping 3 oz. He did a 6 panel "Corndog" as he calls it, w/smooth & textured sides along with his standard briar bottom. The shank is briar and the shank ring is bone.

    ebay cob oddity

Here is an ebay cob oddity I think "I" wouldn't even buy  http://www.ebay.com/itm/151121774241?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

    PAD won again

I thought I was done buying for the month when I commissioned BAKI & Santia to make a couple customs for me. BUT it stayed in the back of my mind that Deniz URAL put a 30% discount on his "master carver" pipes. This little guy is on the way to my collection. :puffy:

La Escepcion ~ De Jose Gener

Earlier this year I hunted down and purchased a brick of La Escepcion, I think it weighed around a half pound and was cheaper than the postage from Spain. It is a very one dimensional, STRONG, cigar tasting tobacco. It is pretty much what I thought it would be. The tastes of this tobacco is so...

    PAD Questions

I have a couple PAD questions and I'm open for any and all opinions #1 is it considered a PAD when you order or receive pipe(s) #2 is there a cure for it? If so, I need to avoid the cure

I recently added a couple more cobs to the collection. One un-used old Missouri Meerschaum MacArthur style and one old lightly used & in great shape Toasted & Broken In Irvin S. Cobb (not sure the style)

    My Latest TAD (Small)

I came home tonight and both of my latest TAD purchases had arrived. Best part is, I was looking for a pipe when I ordered these. Orlik Golden Sliced X 5 tins Cornell & Diehl, Mississippi Mud X 1 tin Cornell & Diehl, Captain Bob's Blend X 4 oz Tewksbury Real Cherry X 2 oz Tewksbury...

PAD Bit Again ~ This Time With a Santia Cob

I know most pipers would never dream of getting one of these just because they are "only cobs" and do cost quite a bit for a cob, but I just couldn't resist having Riccardo make one for me. Edit: Corrected capitalization in title per Rule #9, L. Number Nine, Number Nine, Number Nine

    My Latest PAD

Latest pipes I have purchased and altered in the last week. Picked up a John Sterling from ebay (unsmoked) And a couple custom bamboo shank Country Gent cobs, a couple new stems for cobs I had already, and a bamboo extra long tamper for use with a MacArthur MM Cob.
