A Passion For Pipes Blog Inactivity

Does anyone here know if Neill Archer Roan is doing well? I used to love reading his blog A PASSION FOR PIPES, but he hasn't submitted an entry since July 8th. I understand that he is a busy man with a consulting business and probably more irons in the fire than I would ever want to have to deal...

    CVS Closeout

This may be old news to some, but I was just at my local CVS and they are closing out all of their pipes, pipe tobacco and cigars at 50% off. The clerk told me it would all be gone by October 1st.

    Brooks Brothers Pipe Tobacco

In addition to my pipe collection and my tobacco cellar I also collect books about pipe smoking and tobacco ephemera, such as tampers, cool old tins, signage etc.; the stuff I look for is generally from the mid-twentieth century onward, I leave the really old stuff for others. What Would Santa Smoke?

We have all seen the renderings of Santa Claus smoking his pipe since we were children. I want to know what type or even brand of tobacco you think was in his pipe?

    Orlik Dark Strong Kentucky

I'm looking to get a sample (3-4) bowls of this to try, I'm willing to trade a sample of something you may enjoy as well. I'm not trying to break the rules and trade for a whole tin or buy it, I would simply like to try this tobacco, which is no longer produced and will compensate the trader...

    Crown Royal Maple

Picked up a bottle of Crown Royal Maple at the local store today. When I got home I poured a glass...Damn! It tastes like drinking maple cookies dunked in whisky. This is certainly not an everyday drink, but its a nice change of pace especially for the winter chills.

    Custombilt

I just purchased my first Custombilt estate pipe. I have read about them here and elsewhere and it certainly isn't the prettiest pipe but it smokes like a dream. Are there any Custombilt collectors out there with similar experiences?
