Show Us Your Knife (And Pipe)

Couple of favorites.... A Finman fixed blade, sort of a Finnish version of a Morakniv, with a MM cob and a CRKT compact Provoke with an Eric Paulson Devil Anse.

    Pipe Donations

I know there was an outfit that took pipe donations and cleaned them up and sent them to troops serving over seas but does anyone know the name? I have about 20 pipes I don't use and would rather donate them then deal with the bother of selling them. Any input would be welcome.

    Two Old Dogs Reunited

That must have been one hell of a dog to have not one, but two men carve a pipe in its likeness!! May I been so lucky that a dog (and a pipe) that good rest by my fire someday!

    A Forgotten Pleasure Remembered

Being Canadian I never encounter many cob smokers up here, they just are not that popular here in Saskatchewan. It is a very rare sight to encounter a fellow pipe smoker and I have never come across one smoking a cob but every now and then I look up on the wall of my local B+M and see the...

    Recommend Pirate “Styled” Pipes

Now you just need some rope tobacco and you'll be set. I would recommend some Gawith Hoggarth Brown Bogie. But be warned!! This tobacco is not for the weak or faint of heart!! It is a stout weed, suitable for only the heartiest of men! A devious twist that if smoked to fast will leave your...

Perhaps I should have said "I show you from afar"?

    Recommend Pirate “Styled” Pipes

To me a "pirate" pipe would be along the same lines aa a sailor's pipe. Something easy to clench so both hands are free to work the sails, smaller bowl for shorter smokes, something to handle the harsh rope tobaccos that pirates would obviously be drawn to...... I give you the Tom Eltang Rustic...

    Waterflush Cobs & Meers?

I've never thought of water flushing a pipe. I've always just used rum and pipe cleaners. Clay pipes I just stick in a fire to clean them out.

What Was Your First "I Gotta Buy 5 Pounds of This Stuff!" Tobacco?

It wasn't an option when I could and now it's discontinued but I would love a cellar full of Beacon Extra.

Rolando Negoita Bent Egg Oom Paul

Kind of unusual and funky looking....... I LOVE IT!!! Great looking pipe but how does it smoke?

Does Pipe Shape Dictate Smoking Style?

Yeah, I'm a clencher unless I'm smoking one of my larger pipes.

Does Pipe Shape Dictate Smoking Style?

Been a long time since I made a post but here goes nothing........ Do you find that how you smoke varies from shape to shape? I find I seem to smoke faster and hotter with my stubby cuttys and devils then I do a bent egg or OomPaul styles. I will say that my cuttys and devils are my "work pipes"...

***What Are You Smoking, September 2024?***

Had some Sir Walter Raleigh in a clay cutty last night and broke down and dipped into my 2013 Christmas Cheer on the weekend in a Rattray's Butcher's Boy Sandblast.

I Invented a New Style of Pipe...

Kind of the look of a curved duke. I like it!

    Being Petersonised

I've probably got about 10-12 Petersons including my latest, an Arklow sandblasted in the 408 shape. Peterson offer a quality pipe in a variety of shapes though I would suggest a through inspection before you buy at the straightness of their drilling has somewhat declined in quality lately.

Anyone Use Black Silicone Tips for Stems?

I use about a 3/4” piece of shrink tubing on my clays. Easy on, tight fit and comfortable. Never thought to try it on my other pipes but thinking about it now.
