Gawith Hoggarth Extra S Brown Pigtail Twist

We had a fellow on here who used to wash and reuse his pipe cleaners. I never did figure out whether he put them in with his weekly wash with his socks and underwear. I had visions of him hanging them on a washing line to dry. But, hey ho, it takes all sorts to make a world!

Gawith Hoggarth Extra S Brown Pigtail Twist

@gawithhoggarth : Rape Seed Oil. That didn't occur to me but it makes perfect sense. The trouble with living in the 'Colonies' is you get used to and assume that everyone uses olive oil when that was usually only used on salads in the U.K with vinegar and certainly when I was growing was very...

Best Meer Non-Traditional Animal Artisan (and best American Bison)?

That is way over the top. A good Doctors pipe should not run you more than a few hundred Pounds. They tend to show up in British or Parisian antique markets for some odd reason. I have seen a few late 19th century ones on Ebay over the last year asking for silly money. You can tell the really...

Another Day, Another Old-New Meer To Smoke.

Go 19th century. For some reason they are more durable.

Gawith Hoggarth Extra S Brown Pigtail Twist

I have been smoking the Black Twist since at least the mid 1980s when it came wrapped in silver and waxed paper with the sticky label. I have not notice a really great change in the stuff and I do believe olive oil is what they cover the stuff with during the process. It does make the stuff...

What Was The Worst School Meal You Ever Ate?

I attended both Prep School and then Boarding School. My memory of the eating arrangements of the refractory have remained with me till this day. Most dishes were modeled on something not dissimilar to what they fed my Father in the army during WW2. Breakfast seemed to consist of one strip of...

Here is the close up of pre-2015 Gawith & Hogwarts twist so you can compare the density of the spinning!

***What Are You Smoking, February 2025?***

Good Morning! It is a chilly day here in Lutz, currently 53 degrees with a high of 70 that will be reached about 2 pm. By Florida standards thats pretty cold, however when compared to NYC which is currently 28 and windy I suppose I cannot moan too much about my current situation. I have been up...

Whoever It Was Who Was Looking for the John Cottons Blends from 2015

Is the band called 'Sable and the Smegma's!' and does vegan folk music? rotf

Whoever It Was Who Was Looking for the John Cottons Blends from 2015

Apologies. It should have read 'John Cottons Smyrna' and not the reference to penile Fermunda Cheese which was caused by my predictable AI program known as A.C or Artificial Condor! This is not an opening for you lot to tell very old moyle jokes that were really ancient when trotted out by the...

***What Are You Smoking, February 2025?***

Good Morning denizens of the forum. It is 68 degrees here in Lutz, the sun is about to show itself and I am at my desk cutting up some Brown Pig Tail into thin slices. Today I am in a good mood since I have neither read the papers nor listened to the anything on the wireless and I intend to keep...

Gawith Hoggarth Extra S Brown Pigtail Twist

I have lbs of the stuff and consume it very regularly. Strangely if you use your knife properly you should be able to slice the stuff to 1/32 ' and then rub it out and it will take a fire quite easily. The high moister content was designed to allow you to cart the stuff around in your jacket pocket.

Whoever It Was Who Was Looking for the John Cottons Blends from 2015

Someone on here was looking for the original Standard Tobacco of PA Ltd tins of the John Cottons 2015/16 re-release. There is a three tin set of John Cottons No:1 and a tin of No: 1 & 2 along with a tin of John Cottons Smegma. They are on the tinbids auction site and I think the bidding is like...

***What Are You Smoking, February 2025?***

A picture is worth 1000 words. Here is a block of Cannon Plug before I slice and prep for my pipe and it smells of wonderful rose geranium - I might just put a plug of this in the wife's underwear drawer which sure does beat plugging the wife!

***What Are You Smoking, February 2025?***

Another Saturday in paradise. 80 degree weather, sunshine, not a cloud in the sky. I am sitting outside drinking cheap scotch and soda and smoking a bowl of Cannon Plug in this ancient no name meerschaum pipe with percha gutter stem whilst I shoot the breeze with a few friends.

    Tempted By An Extraordinary Set

@georged : Hello little girl. Would you like to sniff my 'cutty' pipe? Creepy perv circa 1870 hanging out with Lewis Carroll! rotf

Jack The Ripper Identity Revealed After DNA Match 😳🔪

@Briar Lee : JFK is another recurring piece of history forever getting the 'treatment' with the conspiracy theory de jour. Funnily enough one of my friends in NOLA was a great chum of Jim Garrison and also knew Clay Shaw. The stories he would tell about Garrison after a few cocktails were truly...

Jack The Ripper Identity Revealed After DNA Match 😳🔪

It's a great way to sell books. As I have previously remarked Whitechapel and its surrounding area was a horribly squalid and desperately poor part of Londons east end full of new arrivals from Russia. Violence against women was very common. The only incentive for the police to do anything came...

Jack The Ripper Identity Revealed After DNA Match 😳🔪

@Briar Lee: I think what most people tend to overlook is that these women were at the bottom of Victorian society and thus not very important in the scheme of things as far as Scotland Yard or the local police were concerned. I believe one of the women suffered from Brights Disease, a very high...
