I’d have to measure that one. Looks pretty centered to me. That said, a little off on a factory pipe doesn’t bother me. Depends on price point. The more I pay, the pickier I am. But honestly, a slight deviation there won’t make a difference.
In any case, if the stem is overturned, you need to heat the tenon/stem end like before, and twist the tenon counterclockwise. The glue should stay soft for a bit so you can test fit and make adjustments. Then let it cool and the glue will set.
If it comes loose again it might be best to...
If there are kids around I will move to a place away from them to have a smoke just to be mannerly. If people decide to move to where I am I will keep puffing away. If they don’t like it they should go away.
Depends on what was smoked and how recently. Your bowl is clean. You did a nice job on it.
The fruity tobacco is usually the worst ghost. I am currently working on one. Ozone treatment seems to be having the best effect. It may still come back when smoked, but will hopefully fade away with...
First pipe should be read RBC.. Reiss Brothers Co. maybe 1910. Can’t make out second pipe’s brand. Same era though. Both pipes have much later stem replacements. Bit profiles are all wrong. They probably had amber type stems originally.
When heating the tenon, you aren’t softening the stem material but rather the glue used to secure the tenon. I’d heat the tenon and try to carefully adjust it.
