    Is SWR Still Unsmokable Vinegar?

I suspect you haven’t tried the new and improved SWR. If you want to experience it, take a can of the old SWR and pour a cup of apple cider vinegar in and let it age for a while. 😂 Edit… @Briar Lee I understand what you are saying, but it has to be experienced to understand just how bad it is...

    Is SWR Still Unsmokable Vinegar?

S Same here. Had to throw out a 7 once can that reeked of vinegar. It has been a while since I had the good stuff, but I think OJK Blue is a good substitute, at least to my dull palette.

Hey All Show Us Your Pooches!

This looks like the ferocious beast that piled into my full grown Lab. It took me a second to realize it was a Dachshund. I thought it was a wild critter until the dust settled, ha, ha. I had never heard of a “mini” Dachshund until I started talking to the owners. It was a great little dog. Very...

Hey All Show Us Your Pooches!

The fourth picture down shows pure joy! You are correct about minis being tenacious. We were staying at a ski condo one summer and I was walking my 60 pound Labrador Retriever Sasha on leash. Out of nowhere a little flash of a critter streaked up to her, jumped up and was hanging off the scruff...

    In Praise of the Poker

Thanks for sharing this. The Burren is a sweet pipe, but unobtainable. The 701 is growing on me. Blasted finish with a vulcanite, army mount, fishtail stem might work. It would be light enough to clench.

    In Praise of the Poker

https://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/savinelli/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=664383 I like the design of this Savinelli, but it is bigger than my Ben Wade which has a .80x1.6 chamber. I want something smaller. The 701 is the right size but not quite what I am looking for. I’ll keep an eye on...

    In Praise of the Poker

I figured you would have this scoped out by now. 😀 I could be wrong, but the Burren appears to have the shank lower on the bowl than the 701, like my Ben Wade which is a very stable sitter. I like the appearance and stability of the low shank. How stable is the 701? Will it sit flat on the...

    In Praise of the Poker

I keep thinking about this pipe. Does it have a model (shape) number on it? It looks like a handy sized pipe. I would like to find that model in a lower priced version.

I understand what you’re saying. I’m not an expert and use terms loosely. That pipe makes me nervous 😬

    In Praise of the Poker

It was a compliment 😆 I love those bits. I find them to be the most comfortable for clenching. I bite down when clenching and they fit and feel good on my teeth. They hold up well with just minor tooth chatter. Those pipes look like some good workhorses.

    In Praise of the Poker

Is that poker wearing a Danish bit made for a MM corn cob?

Very nice. Did you make that one for yourself?

That is a beautiful pipe. Love the blast!

    In Praise of the Poker

I am attracted to standard shaped pipes like billiards, apples, Dublins etc. The poker shape never caught my eye, so I put off buying a poker until I recently bought this Ben Wade Brogue. I wish I hadn’t waited so long. I love this pipe. It is easily my best smoker. It feels good in the hand...

    Favorite Whole Album

I put on the Perfectly Good Guitar CD this afternoon while the wife prepared dinner. It had her dancing around the kitchen 😍 When we had dogs , if I played Bring the Family, as soon as Thank You Girl started to play, our dog Zack would wiggle up to my wife and jump up and she would hold his...

    Favorite Whole Album

John Hiatt is my favorite artist. Those two albums are great examples of John in his prime. I would add Slow Turning and Crossing Muddy Waters. I saw him perform several times during this period. With a band and solo with just a guitar. Amazing performance every time.
