    Is There A Baseline?

I'll have to check that out. OK, I tried the ones I got in the mail today: Sutliff Red Virginia, Stokkebye 702 Burley, Stokkebye 310 Black Latakia. I'm still reeling from the latakia! When smoking, all I could think of was shaving cream! I don't know how else to describe it. Couldn't find a...

***What Are You Smoking, April 2020?***

Another 1st for me: Peter Stokkebye 403 Luxury Bulls Eye Flake in an old Dr. Grabow bulldog. Daggum this is good stuff.

1st taste of Stokkebye 400 Luxury Navy Flake in a new to me estate Kaywoodie Fine Line. Frikken' flake is good!

Aromatic-Like Prop-Glycol/Humectant Detection In Match Victorian

I noted in another thread that I was resisting the urge to stock up on some of this. I'll probably give in and order a bunch, I like it that much. This and probably some 306.

Same here. I still like the blend a LOT.

Aromatic-Like Prop-Glycol/Humectant Detection In Match Victorian

When I opened the bag, I thought it WAS an aromatic. I detect that funky chemical taste too, though it's better when dried a bit.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2020?***

Pre-dinner appetizer of Match Elizabethan is a MM cob of some kind  I'm really liking this Elizabethan. Resisting the urge to cellar up a bunch at the moment.

So New to Pipe Smoking, My First Pipe Hasn't Arrived Yet

I've been resisting that temptation as a noob too!

***What Are You Smoking, April 2020?***

Stokkebye's 306 for dessert after a ham sammy. I really like this 306. Smoked from that little estate, no name, squashed tomato, which has turned out to be a fantastic smoker. I think I'll use him strictly for English blends.

    1 Grabow for 1 Year (8/2/19)

Do you not like the Grabow, or just because it's smoked out? Cast it in a block of resin and display it ;)

    Smoking All Day

I didn't think it was rude at all. I'm new too. Welcome aboard. These folks are welcoming and have excellent info.

    Is There A Baseline?

Some good input here. I got a bag of Lane 1Q. Smoked it straight out of the bag the day I got it and it was a mess! A goopy, tongue burning mess. I let it sit a couple weeks, airing it here and there, and tried it again. Massive difference. Now it's enjoyable. Might have to take this approach...

    Is There A Baseline?

Thanks! That's kind of the angle here.

    Is There A Baseline?

Thank you sir. I'll give that a whirl after I wake up from the latakia. Same boat for me. When someone describes what tobacco's in a blend, it evokes no reaction in me. Yeppers!

    Is There A Baseline?

It's a personality flaw in me. All the way back to when I was an airman in the Air Force. I HAVE to know how something works and sorting the components is part of it. Well said, and what I've been doing so far. But you know what they say about curiosity. I've also gotten to try some...

    Is There A Baseline?

I couldn't find that one straight, but I didn't look that hard.
