Short Churchwardens
I'd say you can't go wrong with the Missouri Meerschaum Cobbit line. I clench 'em (they're very light as they are cobs) , and you don't even need the special long churchwarden pipe cleaners for them, provided you remove the stem first.- --dante--

Filter
For me, filters always changed the tobacco drastically and I never use 'em. I have a Savinelli, and used the insert they provide if you want to forgo the filter. Works, but another thing to clean.
