Windy Day - Bad Smoke
I just use a wind cap. On road trips in an open air Jeep, I'd load up at a rest stop, light up, and put the cap on. The windy conditions of highway speed with a wind cap are just right for a slower burning tobacco like a flake or rope. It's the only time I don't have to relight them ;). I...- --dante--

You like Picayune, so you're okay with strength, and I know you like burley. I bet you could slice and rub out some Cotton Boll and maybe enjoy it. Far as I know it's just a strong burley rope. If I can get my hands on one, I'll let you know how it goes! ;)- --dante--

Did You Like Burley From The Start?
I smoke burley based blends almost exclusively, and have from the start. I even consider a kentucky dark-fired to be a different tobacco. Samuel Gawith St James Flake - An Exercise in Frustration
This summarizes why I'm not fond of _any_ flake. At least with a plug, I can control the thickness then rub out. A flake is like a plug sliced at a terrible thickness. Not a problem with some, but definitely (to me) problem with G&H or Samuel Gawith, I suppose because of the moistness of them(?)- --dante--

Time Tested Blends
Agreed. The slightly dry, easy packing, good strength of OJK led me to try some D&R offerings, looking for those same qualities. I've become fond of Cockstrong, Picayune, and Two Timer, and they sit aside my big 8oz can of OJK as tobaccos I can just pick one and dip a bowl in codger-style...- --dante--

Granger Burn?
Granger to me has always been as chill as they come. Maybe a reaction to the humectant? I catch a chemical taste from the OTC blends sometimes from that. I'd love to find a Granger Match blend, just to not have that additive. Other than that, I got nuthin'- --dante--
